This late night one has just had a pretty fraught day, so it was nice to have a damn good laugh at the end of it!
Some of the hens looked very bedraggled tonight, but most of 'em just won't stay inside. Rain = more worms, I guess.0 -

TRYING NOT TO :j:j WITH A SALE ON THE BAY THATS HIT 240 WITH 4 DAYS TO RUN....
LIR... WHAT SIZE TANK IS IT? IS IT METAL OR PLASTIC ?
to be honest metal ones are worth more scrap as most are on to the bunded plastic now [some Co's wont deliver to metal, for leakage reasons] if its a placcy one then they can fetch good money !
if you want it advertised , i can do it for you but put your location for pick up... same for that engine/generator thingy... offers there if you want it[unless u hav bay acc ?]
We have an account to buy, have never sold, not sure how to.

Some people say it's better to have a separate selling and buying account, I'm sure someone with more experience will fill you in on that one, because I don't bother.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

Lotus, for the moles you need my cats. They are mole killers. I don't. Mind mole hills, so its a shame.0

Sorry to hear you had a fraught day. Hope a good night's sleep has perked you up a bit.Lotus-eater wrote: »I've noticed I've got a mole that's following the hen run round, maybe the chicken poo brings in more worms? Unlikely I would have thought. Anyway it's making a mess of my lawn... which wasn't much better than a field to start with.
I have visions of a hen pulling a worm up out of the ground while a mole is busy pulling the other end down. Vertical tug-of-war
Moles can be a real pain. We get them occasionally in one particular field. I don't know of any 'nice' way of getting rid of them.
They must have been a real problem here going years back because we found an amazing number of buried old mole traps when we first moved here. Everywhere we dug we turned up more.0 -
They are persistent blighters, took 3 years to get rid of them here, prob went to a better neighbourhood.
We've been gardening between the showers, just trimmed the bay that was nearly wiped out 2 winters back, it took a long while to recover but was starting to get out of hand.
Filled a 1cu metre compost heap with new stuff mixed with 2 daleks of chicken manure/shavings. Hope it'll warm up niceley
First ripe tom, but also looks like some signs of early blight in GH toms, deffo for outside ones. Scrapped the outdoor toms and cut out all affected growth on GH toms. Here's hoping.....
And playing around with an old writing slope, found a secret compartment with two drawers (empty though). Very thrilling when the compartment sprang open
