Sorry about the Olympic flame.:o
Slipped into Lidl's in Torrington to get some choccy ice cream and some person in a wheelchair came past looking like they were on fire.....I tell you, anyone could have made the same mistake. :cool:
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I didn't bother going to watch in the end ....... & am fairly glad I didn't.
The flame shoots between main towns/villages on a coach. I wonder how many people stand en route waiting to see the flame & get the Olympics answer to a Shearings holiday roll by? :rotfl:
I think they may have managed to slightly p off the twin villages, Dave. The organisers obviously didn't check the route because they seem to suddenly discover that they couldn't send live updates or pictures.......... no signal - d'oh.
As for the BBC - one day they'll work out the difference between North & West Somerset0 -

That's why we didn't make holding beds, but kept so much in pots. That has its own problems too, of course.
Our big plant give-away has gone well and we've raised a decent amount in donations for the village hall. Those are all plants that won't need watering....well not by us, anyway!
We've also had a good spin-off in gaining a few more customers for eggs.
Managed to do a tip run today before shopping. Each time we go there seem to be a few more obstacles, so I'm glad nearly all of the previous owners' detritus is gone. This time we were supposed to take the dumpy bags up about half a dozen steps, then tip them over a bar into the skip.....except the skip was full.:mad: "You can leave 'em 'ere then mate" said a sort-of-helpful guy, so I did, but it was lucky we have a surplus of dumpy bags.
Anyway, exchange is no robbery and when I saw a perfectly good water butt, complete with tap, in the 'hard plastics' skip, I knew what we could swap for the dumpies! :rotfl:0 -
CTC, lovely to see you again!
And you didnt even diss my feeble gardening efforts this year
I was half expecting:
"Oi, Rhiwie! Get your butt into gear and weed those beds!"

Lovely garden Alfie.
Been quite hot today, but midges are back this evening.
Funny - snowing last week, hot this. Been off-line a lot which is a pain but getting more common - the exghange can't cope being a wee shed of a thing.
Done my back in again - hobbling around like a hunch back. Going up & down slopes is hard but everywhere slopes here.0 -
