    :D
I was thinking about pigs tbh, when I wrote it. I suspect on another thread where people didn't know what they are talking about, it could have been a funny conversation. ;)

Would you eat chimp for example? I believe some peoples do.

    I hate losing answers.

I typed put the animalscientist answer and reasoning. Then it disappeared. An inaccurate short respince might be, i could consider cannibalism. Inaccurate but might cause a stir.

I still want organic though and free ranging. :D

A hippy who lived on a narrow boat would do in a pinch. But I'm not taking a mouthful of Katie Price.

This is the best non risky answer I can make, while staying straight faced. :rotfl:

i personally think it is a question dependant on so many things that it can only be answered individually rather than as a nation/group etc. if thought of as not knowing ,that doesnt mean they are indifferent maybe merely that considering countries/individuals that face starvation...food is food. we can afford ourselves the luxury of choosing what we personally eat. i love ALL animals but appreciate the food chain albeit i personally have no time for needless slaughter of animals for sport/vanity/greed who are not part of a practical food chain.........
I am playing devils advocate slightly here.

But we are at the top of most food chains and indeed we make our own food chains. We breed the animals we want to eat, thereby creating a food chain.

I read a couple of historic fiction books recently about people eating elephant, maybe that's what brought this question up. They farmed elephants to eat. It has happened in history.

As itsmehonest said, we live in a country where it's "wrong" to eat horsemeat, indeed we don't even have a word for horsemeat (I think), yet in my wife's culture, pork is called "pig" and so on.

It is an interesting subject (I find it to be so), although I don't want a disagreement about it obviously. :):)

We only call it pork & beef because them bloomin' posh Normans ;) brought their French over here & we ended up with two words - one for the animal & one for the cooked meat. :D
    Actually, that's true.

Is that so? And the Normans loved their horses, so that is why we may not have the meat word for horses.
Without looking at google, it's a guess :D

Funny that the French now eat alot of horse :p

Of course the Normans weren't true French anyway. But enough of History 101. :)
