It's wonderful, alfie. I'm useless at painting anything to look real. I can draw but, somehow, when I put the colour on it all goes for a Burton
I bet you could make a tidy penny doing painted furniture & the Roses & Castles things like they used to paint on the canal boats.
I'd have thought there might be a good market locally for that sort of thing down by you.0 -
theres not a demand for the barge paintwork round here.... i did make a 1/12th scale table with miniature pots and pans on it that id painted in the true style for my sister on her barge one xmas tho. now that was tricky as i was using a 3 strand brush and a toothpick !!! to paint them .............
i sold all sorts of painted furniture in my shop [in the tax free back room]. people used to bring in old furniture for me to revamp aswell.
i ought to get cracking and start again...trouble is,its finding the right stuff to paint, old wood bed heads were good but not in vogue now.[maybe tho ??]0 -

I can paint a little, but not draw. We have an unfinish portrait of dog dog where we solved the drawing issue by making her lie on the canva then drew around her with a pencil. The thing i paint best are ponies and chickens, but the ponies have to be purple. I use water colours:o

What goes around, comes around. I bet it will be fashionable again before long - keep the paints handy. :cool:lostinrates wrote: »I can paint a little, but not draw. :rotfl: Then between the two of us we'd be fine. I think I find drawing easier because I know that, if I don't get it right first time, I can always rub it out & have another go
I always feel under pressure to get it right first time when the paints come out _pale_0 -
I cant even draw a matchstick man properly:rotfl:
totally useless at drawing:cool:
cant sleep again, been up for ages...

Alfie that boots box is stunning, if your sale falls through, i would love to buy that off you...
Painted furniture is all the rage, ok now with painted flowers etc, but i am sure this might be the next stage on from the shabby chic furniture...

Hey, who forgot to invite me to the party?
Been "out of sorts" recently so hadn't caught up with the old thread much, especially since no-one had posted since 24th. I thought you'd all gone on strike
Not much happening in the world of the Witch, except a bit of stitching here and there. Not been to the allotment for a couple of months - very naughty I know but I'm finding it hard to muster up any enthusiasm. Maybe the better weather will make me feel a little more human
Now that I've found you all again I'll subscribe to this new thread and delete the old oneMaking magic with fabricLight travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.0 -
Love the boots box and chairs, Alfie you are so talented.

My neighbour is back and I got an envelope through the door late Saturday night. Phew.
Sharks will be sent tonight.
Good. That's 100% for the Royal Mail this time. I wish they always got it right.
In 2010 we had two things go missing: one was a welcome pack for an ISA, and the other was a welcome pack for HMRC! The latter may have cost us a £100, but so far, they've only given us refunds, and there's been no mention of a late submission fine.
I wonder who got the account details for the ISA.Could be time to ditch & switch anyway.

Sorry, the 'management' discovered our illegal stash of 10 000 posts and asked us to kindly move to new premises.
So here we are.
Not being on the allotment isn't a sin at this time of year. I've only just started on the garden. Stuff like garlic will be late, that's all.
Sorry to hear you haven't been well. Once the winter bugs strike, it can be a while before the body gets back to speed, especially if feeling low is part of it. I can't believe how little we've done here this winter, but a few months ago we were both a bit down over the noise and intimidation issues we were having, plus a family member being very ill.....and all that had a knock-on effect.
Architect comes tomorrow though. Apparently, I've had a couple of good ideas, but it's taken DW to put them on paper. However, I suppose it would be only sensible to mentally prepare for another dose of reality!0
