We haven't had that much. Enough for a few days perhaps, but it's not gone down that far. Rivers are looking better, but ours are mostly moorland-derived, so the rain's clearly been falling up there.
Got to phone polytunnel co today about the sliding doors. They work fine, but the aluminium support rail beyond the doorway isn't supported at all, and it droops. Not the sort of job I do! Maybe they've worked-out a fix to this by now, otherwise I'll have to design one.
I don't hate lawyers, but I've previously found it difficult to find one I can get along with.
Here, it was like a breath of fresh air. I met the main man at our current solicitors and said something like: "Well what are your thoughts on this agricultural tie?"
"Don't comply with it, if you can get aweay with it!" was his immediate response. :rotfl:
The lady who deals with our legal business on a day to day basis is similarly jolly, but not sloppy. Emails are always get a response within the hour.0 -
been having heavy showers of rain here too...
had a good chat with the man from the council, so worked out which parts of the land got tpo's, and even the trees that havent got tpo's on then, i have to write into the council with my 'intentions' with a plan and a time scale...this is basically to let the council know what i am doing, so 'when' they get phone calls of complaints from the neighbours, or the neighbours trying to slap mpre tpo's on the land, they know what is happening, and a tree survey report has been put in saying basically they need to come down, or pruned back due to non-management for 30 years plus.....most of the trees have had their day anyway, with loads of dead branches, and covered in Ivy...
Also i found out even if i wanted to fell one tree on my land i got to have a felling license from the forrestry comission..and there is a limit of how many trees you can fell in one quarter... which is approx 5 large trees, AND... you are only allowed to sell 2 of them:rotfl:....
Think this is to try and stop people cashing in on selling wood for woodburners...I woodnt:D be suprised if they bring some sort of felling tax in too, x amount of tax per tree felled..
Well at lease the felling license doesnt cost anything, but can take a few weeks to come through, also need a site inspection by FC too before licesne is issued...
Rozee might be a good idea for you to keep this in mind too, especially if you need to be anything major work in your woods..
flip didnt realise what the time was, better get to work.. otherwise they will be moaning:rotfl:Work to live= not live to work0 -

No one's mentioned anything about TPOs to us. We used to live in a conservation area in Sheffield so you had to be careful what you did in our garden, which had some larger trees.
How did you find out about all of this? Maybe a call to the council is required (another one!)
Our lawyer is really nice, actually, Dave. Obviously, I've met one or two in my time... It's a lot more laid back in the country though - like most things, I suppose.0 -
The air is blue in our house. BT
That smilie does not look angry enough!0 -
Rozzee, you council website might have tpo information, its how surveyors usually find info. If not you call the council with the address and ask.0
