    Lol to rhiwfield about alfie.

The interesting thing about animals is what a leveller they are. Dh's new boss has a dog dog like dog dog, and its made things much easier, he is sure, that they both talk sighthound.

It's blowing a right hooley here. Hideous.

Had to get out of bed to count doors on the sketch plan and go through the external joinery quote. We have 31 doors, 5 of them external. And the joinery company have missed out a quote for the whole west side because architect man didn't draw the elevations (although they're on the floor plans)... More expensive than the hair raising original then :(

Don't worry about the doors, it's the windows that get you. If you get over the cost you never get over the ruddy cleaning :rotfl:

We've had snow & it's been bright & quite beautiful but like the Artic with the strong, freezing wind.

CTC - how exciting for you come Thurs.

Rozee - How the wee one has recovered from her fall.

We have got wooden windows - not got them all but are getting some more soon - they're hard wood & are primed - we are very pleased with the price. Goodness 5 external doors? Seems a lot.

CTC - can I have your ebay name too?

Alfie - what you been buying/bidding on?

Alfie...... so you are not going to tell us then:o. I am going to be in work all day, not being able to consentrate, wondering what you bought on fleabay:rotfl::D

Thank you for al lthe good lucks for tomorrow:beer:..Phoned the solicitor yesturday to try and push it a day or two early, BUT..there is a slight issue:o....My solicitor has asked they supply an insurance ( something to do with access etc) and the sellers solicitor said they will not supply it as there is no need... My solicitor has said even though there would be no problem, he still wants the insurance, as he has seen the odd dispute come out of the woodwork, when a property has been sold etc..so he is just safeguarding against this...

No problems i will pm you my 2 ebay user names, It will be next week, before i start putting more things on regular..

Rhiwie........ oooooooooo yes Def pm you when we get the keys...still cant believe it..:j:j:j:j:j
BUT.... really do need to consentrate on the business... to re-structure it...( basically change from selling most of our stock in bulk, to try and sell more individual items to make a better profit..)....

My seeds are starting to come up:T but i am a bit worried about this cold snap... i havent got any heating in the greenhouse, so will see what happens..

I'm being mithered by a two year old to "want to look at clowers, mummy!" (the seedlings are on the windowsill) so this is a quickie.

There's an annexe, choille, so front and rear doors for each residence and then a side door/new porch from the south side to create a boot room/utility.

I'm keen to use local firms, but if we add in the extra elevation, I can't see how we're going to be spending less than £40K on windows and doors, so I'd like to reduce that somehow.

Haggling hard is my usual approach. Does anyone have any suggestions for national companies that supply double glazed hardwood windows? There's one in Sheffield that I used to use. If I have a comparative quote, I'll have some leeway to barter with the local firms and a fallback position if this dowsn't work. The only alternative is PVC/aluminium option and I don't really want to go that way.

Good luck with the key colllection CTC.

Right, off to look at "clowers"...

Well, we just got a quote back today too, and sufffuce it to say it does not look like we will be getting work done on the wreck this year either. I could buy a cottage for what they want to do three rooms and the heating.

I just told my mother the six figure number and she started to laugh. Sadly we have had two builders return the tender package, and i am starting to feel a little despairing!
