So you think there shouldn't be charges?

Would these charges be by the elephant in the room? :D

Well that behaviour is obviously unacceptable and ridiculous. I, however, am a law abiding cyclist and am fed up of cars parking illegally putting me in danger.

Yeah, I think the point that is being entirely missed here is that cyclists outside of cycle lanes do tend to get a lot of abuse from drivers. Being forced out of the cycle lane by a parked car, puts the cyclist is very real danger of being hit (deliberately or not) by a driver who failed to predict what the cyclist would be doing upon reaching the illegally parked car.

Exactly. When I get grief photographing vehicles they often say 'well you lot always use the road anyway.' Yes, because we're allowed to, unlike you who are parked ILLEGALLY. Do you say the same to buses when they pull out of bus lanes? AND I will always try to use cycle facilities when they are available and suitable (which we all know half of which are not).

    Time for another video.

I looked behind, stuck out my arm, and moved out early, but the van driver blasted through anyway. The lady in front wasn't left very much road to work with!

That's worthy of reporting to his superiors.....

Did you watch to the end? The same driver tried to take me out just a mile further down the road.

So yes, he did get reported and I got a letter back telling me that he'd been disciplined and sent for retraining. The British Gas drivers in Leeds now *all* know that cyclists are using cameras and their driving has increased greatly in quality as a result. Ditto many of the bus companies and now we're chipping away at the taxi companies, but they are proving to be a tougher nut to crack.

Definitely not safe cycling from yourself, what were you preaching about safe overtaking distances, 1.5m?

I suspect that only applies to vehicles overtaking cyclists, not you overtaking another cyclist, who in turn was just overtaking a parked van.

Apart from that, shocking driving from the gas driver, shame more wasn't done when he was reported.

if you look the 1st cyclist peels off as they reach them, whilst he'she maintains their position on the road.
moving further out would be a very risky move given their road position/conditions.

Or don't overtake when it isn't safe to do so.

Well that is what I would do anyway. ;)

I wouldnt be ducking in after a parked car, like the 1st cyclist.
