If you look at my comment it is a question, not a statement.

    So was mine.
We will see what the site moderators think now this thread has been reported.

You're not here for the hunting.

I am sure that if somebody is parked legally, yet people on this website have posted pictures of them stating they are parked illegally, and then went further to post pictures of this persons car on their drive, they would have some sort of case.

Actually no........ Photographs taken from** a public space, are entirely the property of the photographer and can be used without any consent (in the case of people, a model consent form) provided they are not used for commercial purposes.

** I said "from" because if I could see inside your bathroom from a public space, I could take your photo all day long. On the principle that what can be seen by the naked eye is in the public domain already.

It's up to individual discretion as to what/where and how those photo's are used. On the basis that the truth is always the truth...... How can somebody sue a website for libel (which isn't easy in UK law) if the photo's are entirely truthful and undeniable?

Google street view was under no legal obligation to blank out faces and car reg numbers, they did it out of courtesy and to avoid all the moaning and complaining that we Brits love to do so much.

We will soon find out what stance MSE takes on this thread.

Plenty of "name and shame" sites out there, still going strong......

I know one motoring forum that had to start a new thread for bad parking, because the previous thread was 350 pages long, full of photo's......

His point was well made, whereas yours is still somewhat illusive.

    Have you read cyclecraft yet?

Yes, but they're not doing anything illegal.....

Providing links to torrent files is something even Google does, torrent files merely contain a few lines of text. File sharing depends on what's being shared... But it's only illegal if the site stores and distributes the material, it's NOT illegal to provide links so that people who have dodgy files can contact each other....

If I want to contact someone who I don't know, I get the phone book or the Yellow Pages or I call 118. These sites do EXACTLY the same thing!!

The point you make is irrelevant in this context.
