surprised no one asked......
What was the item? The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!
If I give you advice it is only a view and always always take professional advice before acting!!!

It's not advisable to mention the item. You can guarantee someone would do a 'completed listing' search to bring up the listing and find his eBay account.A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0 -
*Sigh* More bad advice.bordercars wrote: »give him a set time and day, if he fails to agree / show then the sale ends and you will dispose of it .
You don't just say "Pick it up at X day at Y time" then cancel if the buyer can't make it. You work with them to agree a mutually acceptable time. What you're suggesting is as bad as just cancelling the sale.0 -
You dont have to sell it.Martin_Knott-Lewis wrote: »Still learning! I thought 9 watchers was a lot. Clearly I shouldn't have started the listing at 99p. The item is new but my OH removed all the packaging which is why it can't be sent.
The buyer will have a round trip of 60 miles and 1&1/2 hours.
I happen to be driving to the town where the buyer lives and have offered to deliver it. I haven't heard back yet but am hoping he'll offer me some fuel money.
Tell him you made a mistake and refund him if hes paid already.0 -
The same happened to me a couple of weeks ago - I was selling a working gearbox and should really have listed it on related vehicle forums rather than eBay. But it sold for 99p and of course I would honour the sale.
I told the guy not to worry about payment but he 'donated' a fiver when he arrived.
My one annoyance there was that, both on the listing and in my follow-up emails I explained which city I was going to be in and when. I had offered to take it with me to London or leave it in Wales depending which was more convenient. But he waited 3 days after the auction end, when I was on the train to London, to email me saying that he was in Wales on Tuesday and would like to collect then. I made some phonecalls and arranged for a neighbour with a spare key to meet him on Tuesday as he wished. But by the end of Tuesday, having waited in all day, he hadn't turned up and replied to my follow-up email with "oh did I say Tuesday? I meant Thursday".
Anyway, he got it in the end, but with all that messing about I did feel like I was doing the guy a huge favour just because it's my nature to do so!Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -

You may think of it as bad advice but it still stands.charlies_mum wrote: »Really bad advice. That way you are sure of a negative and low stars.
The seller is not obliged to sell his item.
If feedback is left for a non transaction it may be removed under some circumstances.0 -
