Well exactly. We all make mistakes.

We don't need to be beaten about the head with them. Especially if we can't afford it. This is a money-saving site. Not a money-giving-away site just because some people don't like the idea of cancelling a deal.

It was a piece of new furniture. I don't think the thread would have lasted this long if it had made just under a pound of its expected price lol

Ditto! That's the whole point of bidding on Ebay for me, it's exciting and the adrenalin flows as you bid in the dying seconds. Using a tool would take all the fun out of it

I once saw a car finish bidding at 99p (1 bid).

No idea if it went through or not. I dont think the buyer would be surprised if you cancelled the order in some way.

They are not obliged to give you any more than £1.04 but he may do, if he is pleased with the bargain.

Anyway - all this nit-picking is pointless.

The OP has posted for help. And help we will give them. They have been advised to cancel the deal. Hopefully they have done so so they won't end up pointlessly out of pocket.
