or adding a reserve price.
Well exactly. We all make mistakes.
We don't need to be beaten about the head with them. Especially if we can't afford it. This is a money-saving site. Not a money-giving-away site just because some people don't like the idea of cancelling a deal."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."

And some people don't like you having a different opinion because they defend eBay so be prepared to be shot down.

when you say £299, do you mean almost THREE HUNDRED, or just £2.99
May I ask what the item was/is0 -
It was a piece of new furniture. I don't think the thread would have lasted this long if it had made just under a pound of its expected price lol0

I frequently bid in the last 6 seconds of an auction - by sitting at my laptop and waiting for the right time to place my bid.
Ditto! That's the whole point of bidding on Ebay for me, it's exciting and the adrenalin flows as you bid in the dying seconds. Using a tool would take all the fun out of it

I once saw a car finish bidding at 99p (1 bid).
No idea if it went through or not. I dont think the buyer would be surprised if you cancelled the order in some way.0 -

Oh dear! 9 watchers is not a lot! I have between 25-40 on all of my items.
Good on you for going through with the sale though, many sellers may try and wriggle out of it!
They are not obliged to give you any more than £1.04 but he may do, if he is pleased with the bargain.
I'd rather have 2 bidders not watching than 100 watchers not bidding.:DMartin_Knott-Lewis wrote: »Still learning! I thought 9 watchers was a lot. Clearly I shouldn't have started the listing at 99p. The item is new but my OH removed all the packaging which is why it can't be sent.0 -
The chances are this wasn't done by mistake but to save a few pence on listing fees.
It was an error of judgement but not really a mistake.
An error of judgement is a mistake.
Anyway - all this nit-picking is pointless.
The OP has posted for help. And help we will give them. They have been advised to cancel the deal. Hopefully they have done so so they won't end up pointlessly out of pocket."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
