Finally heard from tax credits they appeared to owe me the money!! :jdouble checked all the figures I sent were right which they were so its all good
My monthly payment is also being increased to £95! Previously we got £46! Not going to complain just have to be sensible with it!!!
So DD got the rest of her uniform today, just shoes and stationary to get now - also with the extra money paid £140 off the cc bringing it down to £1100!! yippee :T .. I would love to get another £100 off it next month maybe if ebay goes well I might be able to do it. I'm keeping £300 in the bank to go towards the weddings and christmas hopefully I can add £50 to this each month.
I have the rest of the ebay pics done so will hopefully get them listed later. Had a really productive day doing out the kiddies bedrooms just a little shattered now!
Hope everyone has a good Saturday night :beer:0 -
Hubby's car has packed in:mad: ..sigh... so what to do. We knew this was going to happen sooner rather than later it's an old wee car that really doesn't owe us too much but it's definitley something we could've done without! I'm not sure if we should get a 0% cc for about £2K instead of adding 2K to the existing loan we already have. The thought of topping up the loan plus interest really isn't the way i want to go! Will go and have a browse round the forums to see what great bits of advice I can get!0

Hi Mamato3,
Just when things looked to be going so well
That's so infuriating!!
Has it definitely died it's last death or could it be resurrected cheaper than having to fork out for a new one?
Sometimes in the past we've been able to get a car fixed cheaper than forking out for a new one and its given us maybe 6 months to start saving for a newer one.
Hope it gets sorted cheaply.0 -
fantastiyk - it is infuriating and, to be honest, I'm not holding out much hope on it being repaired we sort of thought it wouldn't last the year so I'm not really surprised just deflated at the thought of adding more debt on. Hubby has some overtime built up that he's going to put in for so if we can get a cheap enough run a round with that that might be the way to go - but I keep thinking is there any point in a cheap run a round that might go in a few months again and then we're back to square one! But at least the things I've listed on ebay have a few bids with a few more being watched fingers crossed they all go. I also have an extra days work next month which will go towards the kiddies back to school shoes which will help alot. But onwards and upwards!0

Hi Mamato3,
It's a pain. At least there is the money owed from hubbys overtime. It all adds up. Good to hear ebay is taking off for you. And the extra work comes in handy.
We (hubby and I) share 1 car between us now, we had 2 for years, since 1996 when I think back. So times really have changed when we're back to this. We are lucky though, as DD1 and DS each have their own cars - nothing fancy, but they get them to work and college and they run them and pay for all to do with their cars themselves. We live in the country and there isn't a bus service past where we live. We can arrange to borrow one of their cars if one of us is stuck or as happens parents - we need to be in 2 places at the same time
Hubby bought an old run around when he first began to work away from home in 1997 thinking it would last 2 or 3 months til we got a decent deposit saved for one. It cost him £250, sounded like a bag of bones when it was going but our mechanic said it would do the job. It lasted him 3 years! By which time we were in a better position to upgrade - so you never know!
Hang in there, something could turn up.0 -
You're right fantastiyk something will come up hopefully cheaply
I didn't have the car today as hubby needed it due to his dying a death so it's been quite a long day in the house with the kiddies! Thankfully its been a beautiful day and lots of washing has been done especially as the little guy doesn't seem to be getting the grasp of the potty thing I think hes just extremely lazy and can't be bothered! It could be a long process me thinks!
Have to go and have a rummage in the cupboards to see whats left for dinner not too much I thinks! It could be a very thrown together dinner! Must get into meal planning that's a big failing of mine.
Off to have a look before the kiddies start falling at my feet!0 -
Grrr.. just typed out a whole post and it disappeared into some great computer black hole grrrr...
Good news is that my car passed the MOT :T so we at least have one car fully functioning! Other good news saved about £15 on shopping bill at Mr Ts with the £5 off voucher and a few other vouchers I had, they also had quite a lot of bogof which was good. We're having some family over on Saturday so that'll help feed the troops! Just a few other bits and pieces to pick up in Home Bargains on Saturday.
Ebay going okay, hopefully there'll be a bit more bidding coming up to the end! I've seen a lovely dress that would be great for the wedding in November just not to sure whether to go for it or not, I might contact the buyer to see if they'd accept a bit less. I have a few more bits to put on tomorrow night I'm hoping to get back into listing five things a week it certainly helps get rid of some of the clutter and adds a few more pennies into the bank!
Thankfully Friday tomorrow, roll on the weekend0 -
Euromillions tickets purchased for tonight - we had £30 in the lotto kitty in work so we're doing 15 lines with it - we're pretty optimistic when it comes to the lotto! I will post later if we win anything .. fingers crossed!0
-
Needless to say we didn't win the Euromillions! Ah well there's always tonight:)
A few things finished on ebay making about £22 which isn't to bad, a few more things ending tonight so hopefully the total will go up a bit. I got carried away with the Olympic Ceremony last night so didn't get round to taking any more pics and putting them on will do them during the week when I'm off.
Looking forward to having fun with family today hopefully the rain will stay off!
Just realised that I've paid £441 of the cc since I started this back in February! So I'm really pleased with that!
Happy Saturday!0 -
Hi Mamato3,
Me either, was so glad it was only £2 I'd spent on the ticket though.
You're having a bit of luck with eb@y though so that's good.
£441 is :j I think it helps to keep taking stock of how far we've come, that motivates me more and helps when I have times that we're going nowhere debt wise.
Great news about the MOT - every house needs at least one fully functioning car!!
Have a lovely weekend.0
