£50 paid to cc today so it's down to £1290! Will be delighted when its below £1000.00! Still a while to go though!
Today I got given a brand new kitchen table & chairs! can't believe it really a friend of mums bought it, decided it was too big and offered it to us for nothing! Said she really couldn't take anything for it - but I got her a gift to say thank you - my current table and chairs was past its best a few years back so I'm so happy:)
All birthdays sorted out thank goodness so I don't have any thing else to pay out this month - which is as well really because even the OD is well used!
Anyways hope everyones good.0 -
Hi mamato3,
I dropped by to have a read at your diary this morning and had to leave mid read to get some things done.
I have read it all now and its great seeing how far you've come. I think it helps to have this site to keep us on track. I am noticing I want to keep chipping away at the debt.
Great that the holiday is all paid for, the change in the euro rate has been a bonus. I think a holiday that you've got the cash is much more enjoyable than the stress of a holiday on credit, which we did once - never again, it was so stressful knowing we had to pay for it when we got home, and worrying about spending.
I'm subscribing to your diary as I would love to follow your successes.0 -
Hi fantastiyk - your welcome to drop in any time:) I have been a bit stressed trying to save for the holiday but with only a few days left until we go I am getting very excited (especially as its now pouring again!) Will update when I get back hopefully no cc will be used!0

Hi Mamato3,
Thanks.
Have a lovely sun filled holiday - and bring a little bit of sunshine home with you again for the days when there is none in NII think a good holiday gives us a chance to relax and take a new look at our lives from a different perspective.
Enjoy yourselves!0 -
Hellooo Diary,
Well we've returned from holiday with nice healthy tans, rested and relaxed and also really positive about things sometimes you just need a bit of space from everything to see clearly. Holiday was fab kids had a blast weather was beautiful and most importantly we stuck to the budget, nothing on CCs and no bank withdrawls so all good there:)
Checked accounts today and they're looking reasonable at the minute. Made £50 payment to CC so thats down to £1240. Tax Credits have made a huge payment of £350!!! No idea why or what for and haven't recieved the new schedule of payments from them yet either so I've put it into a separate account until I figure out whats going on with it! Fingers crossed its right it would help hugely with uniforms!!!
I'm also starting the £ a day tin hopefully its more of a success than the last one!
So the new positive me is looking forward to being more mse like just hoping my positivity doesn't fade with my tan0 -
Hi Mamato3,
Welcome back, am glad you all enjoyed your holiday
Holidays that don't have debt that lasts longer than the tan are brilliant :T
Tax credits must have decided to give you a holiday bonus:D
I love when that happens. Haven't heard back from them yet so I'm hoping it will stay the same, am also open to bonuses!!
Good luck with the £ a day.0 -
Hi Fantastiyk - I'm also hoping Tax Credits have given me a holiday bonus! I have it mentally accounted for already lol! Just waiting to get the letter from them before I do anything with it - I've heard so many stories about overpayments and things I don't want to touch it just yet! I hope alls well with you I haven't got caught up with everyones diaries yet will hopefully get that done over the weekend.0

So back to work today after almost a month off
I feel a migraine starting already! Seriously need to work out if I'm going to change jobs, retrain or just stay put .. oh I wish I had a crystall ball! I don't really enjoy my job vey much but its secure, fits in with the family and it pays okay .. I'm just soooo fed up with it! Decisions, decisions ...... anyways money is looking okay at the minute, still no word from tax credits wish it would arrive so I could get uniforms sorted out other than that not too much to report. I think I justed needed to vent or maybe a kickboxing class might do the trick!

I feel the urge to shop!!! I always feel like this when I'm a bit fed up with everything - work being a nightmare isn't helping much either! Must refrain though there really is no money in the bank for any unnecessary purchases!
I'm hoping to put a lot on ebay at the weekend hopefully when I see some stuff selling it'll stop my urge to spend!0 -
Finally got round to listing on ebay - 12 things listed and a few more to do tomorrow night when I get a few minutes spare! Any extra pennies would be great - would love to stay out of the overdraft this month! The kids decided to tidy out their rooms today so I now have lots of bags filled with unwanted toys for a boot sale! Just have to find the time and somewhere to go to sell them! My middle DD has already wrote out his price list0
