I wish I could bring up a kid on only £50 a week it's father was going to pay. And I bet the mother does too!

The mother isn't bringing a child up on only £50 a week ... unless of course it's only a father's responsibility to contribute financially to their child's upbringing.

She has her contribution, the child maintenance, child tax credits and child benefit.

The £50 a week isn't the father's only financial contribution either, he also contributes while the child is with him.

Hope it didn't hurt too much :rotfl:
When your life is a mess, stop and think what you are doing before bringing more kids into it, it's not fair on them.

If she wasn't working, or getting tax credits, she WOULD only have the £50 a week though to feed, clothe and bring up her child.

£50 a week isn't a rubbish contribution (let's face it, people pay far less, or nowt at all), but it's a bit begrudged by the sounds of it.

Jesus wept can you calm down with all these sensible balanced posts?! :rotfl:

I (nervously) agree wholeheartedly with this........you sound, OP, like you *really* resent making any sort of contribution!!

Doesn't sound like the OP degrudges the £50 a week at all, in fact he stated exactly that if you had read all the posts.
Please dont get me wrong, I don't begrudge paying a fair amount towards my daughters upkeep, which I believe I do. What boils my pi$$ is the fact my ex is pleading hard up.

He is not posting about a mother trying to raise a child on only £50 a week (which wouldn't happen anyway with income support, child benefit, tax credits etc etc). You appear to be blindly NRP bashing.

Here we go. The OP's posts do not read like that at all.

NRP bashing? Where's the rolling-eyed thing to insert here?

Would he be chuffed to bits if HE had the kid 6 nights a week and the ex tipped over £50 and said "well you get wages and tax credits, so what?"

And what did he say he was bitter about? Not about having to pay £50 a week towards his child's upkeep ... which is in fact more that he would be asked to pay through the CSA. It is that the mother is then expecting over and above that amount.

If you were complaining he was begrudging paying extras, I would agree. But he isn't. He's paying what he is asked to and slightly more and funnily enough, would probably like to choose how to spend the rest of his money on his child rather than having it dictated to him by his ex.

You have no idea if the OP has restricted his access to 1 night a week or if in fact he has had his contact limited to 1 night by the mother. How you can make such judgement with so little facts is beyond me.
