No i live in Norway, i used to live in London which is why i use it as an example... ;)

Why use London as an example -Statistically odds are we're not talking London rents here anyway for two reasons 1 Most of the population doesn't live in London but elsewhere and 2 The OP doesn't sound particually <cough> sophisticated so less likely to be a capital dweller. So why pick an area with untypically high rents (apart from the obvious -that it distorts the figures to better fit your viewpoint)

yeah, let's keep those children living in poverty, shall we?

Isn't the whole point of the benefits system so that people don't live in poverty?

no, its so single mothers dont have to work more than 16 hours a week

Given that £26000 is the cut off give or take for WTC and CTC, and that 2 are working, on the assumption that housing bills in london are in the region of £1400 a month, totalling £17000 that leaves an income for living of £9000 for 2 adults and 2 children...

Take the same for the other party, subsidised housing, claiming WTC CTC etc, and you could say that working for 2 days a week for extra money as the bare minimum to be able to keep the benefits, and i would bet money that they are not far off the same disposable income...!!! difference is the morals and 2 people in full time employment and one playing the system...!

Exactly......here here.......spot on.....oh and mother works in the sweet shop for one of her days on a sunday

Kevin you know the truth as do million of others lets this government brings in some new changes and gets these women off the sofa and into work.
  • Superdry coats are £70, i bought my NON smoking 13 yr old one for xmas. So that proves that the money IS being spent on the child?? I get 100 a week off my ex and i bet his GF is mortified!! Good! But! I pay for cricket and football lessons for my boy, and riding lessons for my girl. Pwc cant all be tarred with the same brush. Either way i hope its sorted, wouldnt surprise me if she caught wind of CSA2 and did that, just to wind you up, my guess is it would work. Then things would be even more resentful. The only person affected by it all will be the daughter, who at that age will be making some assumptons of her own ie; why did my dad have 2 more children? x
The feeling i got when i confirmed my place studying criminology at Exeter Uni was brilliant!!!!!

The pride my children told me they had in me was even better!!!!! # setting positive example to children is OUTSTANDING!!!! !:grouphug::grouphug::smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea

So you work at an airport and she works in retail
-pretty similar jobs then -Can she spell "Hear hear" correctly ?

My SIL works for an airline too at a regional airport -her spelling is much better than yours -Is English also your second language ?

(Not sure Kevin's going to be much use to you-He doesn't even live in Britain)

I'd imagine the poor kid already makes some pretty harsh assumptions at 14 if the OP speaks to her the way she speaks about her on here. She's the one I feel sorry for .......and yes I could quite see CSA2 in the future if the OP's anger and vile way she speaks about both mother and daughter is apparent to the Mother....and frankly I wouldn't blame her after four years of no support when the OP says the father *was* working. They played the system and she may very well decide it's now her turn to do so.

if you are llving on benefits, you are really living at/on the poverty line - you are given an amount each week which the Government deems you need to live on - for an adult that's somewhere around £67 a week, I think. Try and feed yourself, keep warm, replace clothing, travel, pay insurances etc. on that.
