If you're going to complain about a debt collection agency, it's worth doing it to the OFT, FOS and CSA.
Expect to be disappointed by their responses and you might be surprised.
OFT will thank you for the information but cannot take up individual queries However, after several million complaints they may very slowly take action against the debt collector.
FOS will investigate and get back to you in 6-12 months (probably nearer 12 now due to all the ppi complaints). For me, they've always sided with the debt collector. But there are instances on record where the've awarded compensation to the complainer.
CSA will write back in a reasonable timescale but I have always found that they side with their members. I don't recollect them taking action against anyone but you should still make them jump through the hoops. Maybe one day, they will.
I still suspect the Channel Swimming Association would do a better job.0
