Natasha if you assume that everything that Roxburghe say is a lie you will generally be right. And this certainly applies to the BS letter you describe.

Yes, what does the Child Support Agency have to do with this, Manx?:rotfl::rotfl:

I think he might mean the Credit Services Association. The national association for debt recovery agencies.

I somehow don't think he meant the Channel Swimming Association.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)

    Natasha,

They have lied to you. The driver cannot be the agent in this case.

    Manx is right.

    Give them FA,

I can only think the child support agency is involved as they are still trying to find his father...

hi im back! lol just recieved a letter from roxburghe debt collectors. i played snap with the other debt collector letters posted on here but this 1 is signed by steve dargonne and it has a bold sentance saying 'we would like to draw your attention to common law doctrine of the law of agency which confirms the RK is liable for the acts of the agent (driver)'...what the hell is doctrine??? lol

    :D

Steve Dargonne is a 50-something ex-Bank Manager who was originally a pen-pusher at various West Sussex Midland Bank branches.

Think David Brent of The Office TV programme! :rotfl:

This is not a scary guy...believe me I could tell you a thing or two from friends (not me) who used to work very CLOSELY with him!!

The former are about as useful as the latter in regulating the debt collection industry.

I notice their director is in the news

OK, maybe you could write them a letter.

    Dear Sir/Madam,

    Ref: XXXXXXX

I deny any debt to your organisation. Under CSA guidelines you should now refer this back to your client.

Any further correspondence received from you will be considered as harassment and action will be taken against you and your client accordingly. I refer you to Ferguson v British Gas.

    Yours,
    Je Suis Cecil.

I've not heard any reports about them being toothless, but that's not to say they aren't. There is a formal complaint procedure and you can submit it via their website.
