As a recent customer of Shopneo and Following the advice on this thread I decided to telephone my credit card company (Capital one) and ask for advice. they said that i had not been affected but it would be prudent to close my account as it was a 'known problem' Thanks to all who posted on this thread. you might have saved me a lot of money and grief
I almost feel sorry for shopneo. it will have to be a very good explanation from them before I would consider using them again
It is better to contemplate writing a malicious comment that can make you appear stupid, than to write and confirm it.

I've had three fraudulant transactions totalling £127 since buying from shopneo. Two for Aquapay and one for https://www.musicmatch.com.
Had to cancel card and now trying to sort out refund.
I could well do without the hassle at this time, but credit to shopneo for notifying their customers, i'm sure a lot of other retailers would have buried their head in the sand.

I would seriously recommend that you do change your card ASAP. Payments alledgedly went out to London Congestion Charge.

Thats me too... I am a disqualified driver and got 2x £8 Transactions for "CCLONDON" - Toll Charging

    and 3x £25 Transactions to TABLETONSA ???

Bank Charged me £60 in fees as I had bounced DD's because of the breach in security and said they will not refund... Well P1$$3D

I know this is not the Managers fault or the person that posts here but at least we should be getting some sort of compensation. At least the amount that we pay or a £15 voucher to buy something 'elsewhere'. You say its not your fault but you gotta take the responsibility that comes with the job. Its your fault, I have thanks to God, never had any fraudulent activity on my acc until NOW.

Buying 100 DVDrs for £5.34 ended up costing me £186.

I am not even a person that checks their accounts consistently and knew this was dodgy from when I first saw it. My new card should be arriving soon. I dont even have that many SO's on my account but there seems to be a lot of ppl that do here.

Its a disgrace. Utterly and disgustingly.
Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%
Remember when that Bank Manager or Salesperson smiles at you, all he sees is £ notes. Dont forget the motto, "the wider their grin, the more debt your in"
  • I purchased something on Shopneo last October, I used my new credit card to test it out. It's the ONLY time I have used it online.
Have recieved notification today that £357 has been withdrawn from my account to online casino 32red.
They are looking into the fraud...

  • Got the letter today (nice to know for sure who’s database got pinched) and I am already having fun with Egg over the £600+ of fake transactions .

Considering prior this Neo and Scan have been the only 2 companies to have my Egg card in the last 6 months I had my suspicions.

The highlights are Coral betting (seems to match the trend) for a few hundred, Tescos online for just under a hundred, some random unknown transactions (inc. an ISP according to Egg) making up the bulk of the rest and (wait for it) a balance transfer from another card for £35 .

To add insult to injury I am 100% addresses where also taken as I just got a nice letter from Coral welcoming me to there online betting site :rotfl: sent to my address (the slightly typo’ed version I put on Shop Neos site by mistake).

Not really impressed is a huge understatement and whilst Egg say they are looking into it (and there fraud team did pick it up) they say it could take a while to sort things out.

  • Took a bank statement today, £940 taken from my account by someone calling themselves "Newspaper Advertiser" using my card details. Card cancelled, Lloyds TSB taking care of everything. Lloyds were well aware of the name Neo already!
  • I'm a little concerned with the whole Neo Technologies set up..
I checked them out on CompaniesHouse.co.uk and the info below is what I found! It looks particularly dodgy!!!!!

They are also breaching the amended company regulations (2007) by not stating where they are registered in (e.g england and Wales) - their registered company number and their VAT details..... This should be on their website and ALL business correspondence to customers - it wasn't on their little letter sent out the other day!

The original order I had placed with them never arrived and I have now had a refund by cheque - as my CC was cancelled...

They also changed their story 3 times
    1) It was shipped on the Friday.
    2) It was shipped on the Monday - but we're out of stock now.
    3) sorry we couldn't fulfill your order...here's a cheque.

Re companies house, have you looked at the shopneo thread on the Warnings and Rips offs board-it depends whether they are a Limited Company or not, according to another poster.

I've just registered here. Guess what? - bought some DVD blanks from you-know-who then I get stung for £600+ by Red32.com.

I must admit that the disks are fine :-(
