Last year when my flatmate was annoying me, I posted his number online somewhere saying he was giving away kittens... he got calls for weeks at all hours of the day.... not that I'm suggesting that would be the right course of action here ;)

I'm surprised that he didn't ask where people saw the ad, to get it removed, and also to possibly trace the placer of the ad if he suspected foul play.

The worst INR scammerS are those impatient theiving little scumbags that make it obvious. They could at least try to seem genuine - but its too much trouble for them.

You post the item and email them to say its been posted. You then get an immediate response the SAME DAY saying it hasn't arrived and they want a refund. In the end - they get one too - leaving you wound up and bitter.

send round the taxi's and pizza delivery people ;)

Of course most companies can afford to run around on fool's errands.
Having to open your door can be an annoyance but isn't likely to cost them any money.
  • revenge is a dish best eaten cold... if you felt so inclined you could check through her past buys and sales and do a bit of cross-referencing. it's amazing what a bit of patience and detective work can bring to light. i uncovered a shill ring. ebay did nothing. it was, however, a big ring with big sales so i passed the info to hmrc who were very pleased.

No no no...what you need to do is print out all the evidence, prepare a written statement and go to the Police and report it as a crime.

That is exactly what has happened.

    Report>get crime number.

The Police should be interested as its a nice clear case and will add to their stats with minimal work.

Remember they might be ripping others off too and if they are minded i that way,who knows what other crimes they are into...
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

The police would be even less interested than eBay. I should think they'd laugh me out of the police station.

You think so? If they "laughed" me out of the Police station, i would raise a complaint. The Police are there to deal with crime and if someone pitches up and reports one, they first have to decide if a crime has been committed, and if it has, they should then take details and issue crime number.

For example,The Theft Act 1969 Sec 1 states..

A person is guilty of theft if he dishonestly appropriates property belonging to another with the intention of permanently depriving the other of it.

How is taking details and issuing a crime number going to help?

And there's no way of proving that the dress she's sold is the same one she bought from me.

Sorry, don't mean to sound harsh, but the reality is they just would not be in the least interested.
