I have signed too. Such a shame that a life had to be lost though, but hopefully something similar happening can be prevented in the future.0

This is definitely a good cause, and it is well worth signing the petition.
However, will the Council take account of signatures from people who live outside the area?
When the numbers involved are so low (250 to become valid and require a response, 2,500 to require a senior officer to discuss the issue, etc) it suggests that they're looking for responses from the local community only.
It would be worth while checking - anonymously maybe - if there are any restrictions on the kind of signatures that will make the petition 'valid'.
For example, I live in Scotland. If I sign the petition, but my vote is ruled out because I don't live in the area, then I can live with that.
If I sign the petition, but that leads to the whole thing being ruled 'invalid', because I'm not a local, I couldn't possibly live with myself, knowing that!
Could you let us know what you find out, please?0 -

On Wednesday, 15th February 2012, a three year old boy had his life cut short by a driver, at the King's Lynn Mart. The council shut off the roads for the Great East Anglian Race and Festival Too every year, so why not the mart? With excitable youngsters running around, running to and from rides, crossing roads, why aren't they shut? Hopefully now a tragic accident has occurred, the Council sit up and take notice! But it shouldn't be that way! Why should someone sacrifice a life for change to happen?
Thanks
Sorry I have to say this, it goes against what everyone has done.
Where are the parents. They are responsible for their children.
a three year old should never be allowed to run around, should be supervised at all times, maybe the council doesn't need to shut a road if the parents are doing their job properly.
Sorry0 -
I have signed, as little ones will always run around and parents can be as quick as they like, but sometimes the little ones are just too quick. This should not be allowed to happen at events. Too sadLeopardlady
