sorry this did make me chuckle!!! :rotfl:
I think the biggest laziest thing I do is driving to work when I could easily walk. Have recently changed jobs to my home town, after working 20 miles away and needing to leave for work at 7.15  for the last month I have been leaving at 8.55
really must walk as it would only take me 20 mins
can't remember the last time I bought a takeaway as I make it a morning task to take something out of the freezer
things I do that mean I am a right lazy !!!! is filling the sink with soapy hot water and then an hour later doing the exact same thing & doing a load of washing and the next day (and regularly 2 days later) washing it all again. Also guilty of having a gym membership and not going - although I have been every other day for the last week - can you see my halo climbing back up to my head???
I'm only human though and for some reason MSE is much more appealing than drudgery :rotfl:
that reminds me must go and hang up the washing rewashed yesterday....DF as at 30/12/16

My biggy is driving to Uni (which costs £10.00 petrol plus £3.00 parking) rather than getting a travel pass (For £7.30) and going on a bus, then a train, then another bus just to get there. It's a real difference in cost but it adds overall about three hours travelling time to my day, makes me feel exhausted and poorly when the weather's cold and I'd rather spend the extra time I get by driving with my hubby and my 3 y.o son.
Oh and I do love an occasional naughty takeaway

That's not being lazy, that's managing your time.jessbrown100 wrote: »My biggy is driving to Uni (which costs £10.00 petrol plus £3.00 parking) rather than getting a travel pass (For £7.30) and going on a bus, then a train, then another bus just to get there. yes I pride myself on being thrifty and moneysaving - but I am LAZY and do have to force myself sometimes to do something from scratch rather than just buying it! but, sometimes (I tell myself) it is cheaper to be lazy! for instance - a can of Homepride Red wine cookinsauce costs far less than it would be to buy a bottle of red wine and reduce it down! Its not always cheaper to make it yourself (one of my criteria when buying things is to ask myself 'can I make it cheaper than buying it?).0

I quite often struggle with guilt over the stuff that I don't do, rather than congratulating myself on the stuff that I do do!!
I am a single Mum and work full time, so when I'm not at work I'm generally running around after a 4 year old!! Many of us are busy people I'm sure, so it's understandable that we don't all have the time to visit 4 different supermarkets to compare prices. And even when we do get a bargain, chances are, if we'd gone somewhere else we could have saved 2p or whatever...
Like Anguk says, we also also need to remember to put a value on our time. Sometimes I'm so shattered after work and putting DD to bed that I don't make my sandwiches for work the next day. I do feel a little guilty when I spend the occasional £2.80 on a sandwich in the local cafe, but I suppose £2.80 is pretty cheap when it means a much-needed rest and break from the stresses of trying to keep on top of everything.
Maybe we need to learn to be a bit easier on ourselves and celebrate the positive changes we have made. :A0 -

It got me thinking of all the ways that I cost myself money because I'm either disorganised or lazy (or too busy browsing the OS forum to get off the sofa and do something!).
Things like:- DH having to buy sandwiches for lunch because [STRIKE] I didn't make him any the night before[/STRIKE] he didn't make himself one
I can think of one way you can save a bit of money

I am definitely cut from the procrastinating s*d-it-I-can-afford-it mode, when in reality I can only just afford it and I have to give up something else in order to do so. This years new years resolution was to make a proper effort to stick to my budget and, thanks to this site, I am doing pretty well so far. Every time I have a CBA moment, I think about what I can't afford to do in the summer if I spend the money now and it gives me the kick up the backside I need.
The fact that we now live out in the sticks and the only takeaway nearby is an expensive indian (lovely but not my favourite!) has put the scuppers on the takeaway lazy moment - when you have to spend best part of £30 for 2 or get in the car and drive 5 miles to get a takeaway suddenly making pasta or something simple like that seems like the lazy option.
And I'm still in love with the breadmaker this site persuaded me to get for xmas so the novelty of fresh-bread packed lunches still hasn't worn off.
I can't actually believe that we are nearly at the end of the 2nd month of the year and I still haven't visiting McDs in 2012!0 -
Letting my DH go to the SM instead of going myself? Does that count?! He spends SOOO much more than I would :eek:0
