I had a problem with an order for my daughter's birthday in late November. Ordered a present 2 weeks beforehand but it didn't turn up in time as it was out of stock. No phone call to let me know this, I had to phone them. So I decided to keep the order and use it for a Christmas present, kept phoning every so often to be told it would be dispatched soon. In the end I did receive it 4 weeks later, not once did I receive an email or phone call to update me. Do you know what annoyed me? The day I received it the item went to half price. This has put me off ordering with IWOOT again.

iwantoneofthose is part of TheHut running god knows how many websites as well as selling on eBay and Amazon. To be fair with media, if the studio's distributor runs out and new stock isn't replenished quickly there's not much that can be done. The company keep selling the item/hold the order as it will come back in stock but it can be a slow process for certain titles.

To personally email or call each customer when there is an OOS at the distributor would cost staff which pushes up the price. Most people are shopping with TheHut because of their prices, if you want great service there are thousands of quality independent businesses more than happy to accept your business.

Well, I disagree ludo ... not that I'm going to fall out with you though !

They surely can't take an order for 3 items, give you 2, then cancel the third without telling you. Then you phone up to query it, they tell you that you can't get a third item at all even though you've paid for it. Then promise you £14.99 back, but only give you £7.49 ... which isn't enough to buy the third item you want from the 3 for £20 sale.

Then when you do find something you want, they list the item in stock and after they've taken your money they then decide, well, they don't have the item after all. The promised delivery date comes and goes. And when you query it, you get some generic "sorry for the inconvenience but you'll have to wait another 3 weeks".

Shouldn't really complain, I'm not suffering any hardship at all, not suffering any financial loss. It's just that their customer service really is awful.

The movie Zoolander is on the box tonight, though, I strongly recommend that. It's on Film 4. Very funny :-)

Greetings my friends,

Sorry for another late message. Bad day at work but I've got a long weekend to enjoy, am off Friday and Monday. Yay. Friday morning and my beloved OH is having a well earned long lie in bed. I might even make her breakfast too. Then I'm packing the kids off to playschool/infants school & doing the weekly shop, while she gets some rest. Might even squeeze in a quick tidy up of the house as well.

OH is 30 years old tmorro. She's getting packed off to a health spa/hotel type thingy with her Sister for the weekend :-)

Anyways. Back to this awfulness. To be fair, they did actually send me an email today, apologising profusely for their inability to send me my dvd. I' reassured to learn that "We're continuously looking for ways to improve the service we offer"

*snigger* (if only that were true).

Well we've had a lovely day. OH is now away until Sunday and the boys and I are watching Doctor Who on the telly. It's the Blink episode, the one with the angel statue people. They love it !
