  • Hi Lauren
This is my first post! Have just finished reading last 2 weeks of your diary and have noted some ideas from all. Just wanted to add my thanks for your inspiration, will try harder tomorrow, spent too much in ASDA and TK MAXX today. It's a great site have been reading and recommending the contents to all my friends for last few months.
Have you tried any of the free cinema tickets for a night out with you OH or friend. We managed to a SeeFilm First preview last night!

Day 16? (i have lost track of the days:rolleyes: )

I am starting to get withdrawl symtoms from not having my bank card as a safety net, i feel as if my arm had been removed, i lost my phone yesterday too, probably discharged in the back of the car (currently 12 miles away) so i am feeling rather fragile and lost iykwim?

We have just sorted out our holiday this year back to cornwall for 3 weeks in the summer holidays:j , we did it when our daughter was 3 and travelled for a while round cornwal and devon but will probably stick to hendra most of the time, its £19 a week for a pitch:T if anyone has never tried camping i would really recommend it.

    Hi Lauren,

That feeling of something missing from your wallet and the apprehension you feel are totally normal and I know exactly what you mean by saying you feel like you lost a arm lol. I took me weeks to get used to it and even now 4 months later I still sometimes do a double take.

It may sound stupid to some people but I had to put some other stuff in my wallet as it felt far to light for my liking. I started carrying around stuff library cards and membership passes but eventually I couldnt be a*sed with it lol.

Also have you been keeping a running total in spending diary? would be interesting to see the figure after a month or so ;)

    Sue,
The idea is to freeze your CC in a tub of water in the freezer so if you REALLY need to use one, you will have it there BUT it won't be available for impluse buys (like QVC, lol)

Wow what a fab idea - I thought it was something to do with the chip not being picked up if it had been frozen - but now it is all making sense. Guess where I'm off ...... yep, you've guessed it - to find a jar to fill full of water. :rotfl:
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying! :rotfl:

Hi just to warn anyone that is going put there cards in the freezer beware of how you defrost them if you do need them in case of a real emergency.

DO NOT use the Microwave was it will melt the cards and you will have to then get a rpelacement card anyhow. you need to make sure it naturally defrosted. I remember reading a post some time ago that someone had done this so dont fall into the same trap lol ;)

    DAY 17
feel free to correct the days, not sure if it's 17 or 18:o

Well this morning it is such a nice day, we have blue skies and some warmer weather i have decided to sort out the heating, we used to have it set to come on at 7 pm or half an hour after the little mans bath and an hour in the morning but have dropped to morning one and turned the raidiators down a notch too, by end of term i reckon we can drop it all together (praying for a mild winter again, didnt need our heating until xmas:j)

My bag of sprouting potatos are going well but not sure when to plant them, i got big old ones and new potatos, also am trying to build a cloche(?) out of a hula hoop, canes and an old raincover:cool: for my tomato plants.

Also does nay one know where to get spring greens or kale seeds too?

    Many thanks in advance

I think that Lidl may do those seeds. Worth a look. I know that some of the big Asdas are doing seeds now too.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.
