good luck Lauren.
I have been trying to keep everything to basics and so far I seem to have managed it. The idea is to use up all the bits and pieces int he freezer and int he kitchen before buying any more, except, of course, the fresh stuff. have managed n £50.00 a month, and that includes doing the vege. shopping from the market as well.
I do NOT want to buy any more clothes this year. The challange is to see how long I can manage this.Shobhna0 -

Turnaround Sue,
Sorry, no disrespect but that soap idea sounds just gross to me, lol

What an excellent thread - I will follow this with interest, and wish you sucess - it is surprising how easy it is to do without things when you get in to the swing of it. This week we had a trip to Beamish, and looking around there just highlighted to me how we fill our lives full of !!!!!! that we don't really need!0

Bunny
Hi Bunny - no disrespect taken, but can't understand why is sounds gross - thought it was a good MS tip - have done it myself in the past (pre pump action soap bottles) and saves throwing away those bits of soap which get just a wee bit small!!When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying! :rotfl:0 -

Our house was ransacked and burgled in April last year and after that I realised how much pointless !!!!!! we had in our lives! The stuff we had left meant nothing to me anymore ... for years it had been my stuff that i couldn't live without. As it turned out I could live better without it, less clutter, and less time spent cleaning / clearing it up, more space and more time to spend doing what i wanted to do. Since then I car booted alot of our remaining (junk) possessions, because I couldn't even bear to look at the stuff that was left, it meant nothing anymore. When car boot season finished I got into ebay and sold a load more gear that i realised i could live without too!!! Now I'm on a roll and when I've ebayed all the bits I had left I'm off to my mams to clear out the loft - my gear thats there from when i left home 15 years ago.!
Excellent thread...i love these inspiring ones, they give me that extra kick up the @rse I need every now and then. will be watching with interest:T .credit card debt at LBM Nov 2006 £11,300:eek:

Day 6?
Was a long night at work, got £4 in tips so that part paid for my taxi home 3am is not a time i want to be walking home despite what my rules say, had 3 hours sleep untill i got summoned out of bed by the youngest's very sqidgy nappy. As much as i love my washables, just once everynow and again i would like them to hold their liquid and let me sleep:D , although i do have 4 more 300boots point voucher if i buy some huggies, effectivly making them only £2.55 a pack:o *
£2.55 + extra sleep vs. time + energy x CO2 emmisions + washing powder.???
:rotfl:
I suppose i could get 2 packs of each size to cover us for the next 120 nights, is that allowed?
* all my female relatives have joined the boots parenting club and pass the vouchers on to me, well my mum does look after them a lot for free when i am at work so technically she could be classed as a guardian, she likes the no7 vouchers.
If anyone has not joined it i recommend they do, you get double point on all boots baby products including their nappies, wipes (permenantly on BOGOF) cheapy baby bath, creams and shampoo, great for excema sufferers even if you dont have kids.
tip, if you need vasaline get the baby petrolium jelly, green tub in baby section, seems to go further than vasaline IMO:T0 -

Better still make your own!!
Another use for those empty baby food jars!!!
Unpetroleum jelly
2 oz. beeswax (can find at B and Q)
1 cup of the oil of your choice, such as a carrier type oil, olive oil, or just plain veg oil from the cooking aisles
Melt the beeswax in a double boiler or in microwave. Stir in the oil. Remove the mixture from the heat and stir until
it is cool. Once it cools , you can also add lavender or chamomile to it if you wish.
For extra night-time nappy boosting.. try a microfibre cloth or 2 tucked in.. they are really absorbant!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
