    Hi Lauren

Just wanted to say that I'm really looking forward to reading your diary over the coming months.

I also have been reading 'Not Buying It', am nearly at the end, but have found myself rather frustrated with the book - they are American, have no kids, and appear quite comfortably off anyway - I kept thinking I so wish there was a British equivalent to this, I could relate to it more! I reckon your thread might be it!

You'll probably have lots of highs and lows during your experiment and it would be insightful to know how you are feeling emotionally about it all as the months go on.

Thanks for an interesting thread, I shall read it with interest.
    Best of luck with it!

  • Well its unusual for me to actualy read every post in a thread this size but this one I did! That says a lot. Regarding soap/liquid soap/shapoo etc, if you get Soapnuts, apart from the washing machine you can make liquid soap which is also suitable for shampoo. Its easy on the skin also.

As for the baby jars our daugter is painting them with glasspaint and turning them in to little garden lanterns, tieing string round the rim and attatching them to the spare washing line. They look super cool.

    Day 7 :j :j :j :j :j :j

    YAY MY FIRST WEEK................................

Of being a stingy, moody, miserable moo and complete pain in the rear:rolleyes: Or so my OH says.

I am going to celebrate today with another banana and walnut loaf and a cup of char.

OH is bringing some buttermilk home from work (he's a cheesemaker during the week, we also get free milk:T ) so i can have a crack at doing butter again, i used to use the cream off normal milk when the milkman used to deliver it about 15 years ago! but for some reason it isnt the same anymore.

I must have saved well over £80 this week and still have some of my £5 allowance so today OH left me £4 on the computer desk for my "pocket money"
