  • Hi Lauren,

I'm also very interested in reading your diary butI'm finding it daunting to wade through the other comments on this thread in order to find the entries. Is there any way of starting up a blog or website (I saw on another thread that microsoft are giving away free websites for a limited period) just containing your diary entries and maybe adding it to your signature?

That'd leave this thread for us all to make comments and suggestions without swamping the diary.

I know this will involve a deal of effort, but I doubt I'm alone in being really interested in your quest, but not having the time to plough through all of the thread :)

Anyway, whether this is possible or not, good luck with the challenge!!

Sore throat.. a spoonful of honey helps, but if you have lemon juice.. put a tablespoon of lemon juice in a glass of warm water add the honey to sweeten it .. honey and lemon.. very soothing!!

My nan used to mix up honey, lemon juice and glycerine when I had a cough or sore throat (you can buy glycerine at boots in a bottle).

For Mount vesuvius, I use sudocreme, or lavendar oil - both antibacterial and soothing.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

I am drinking mugs of honey and lemon tea, my nan used to give me teaspoons of butter and sugar, yuk lol

Must haul my bum off the computer now, 1st day back at school and 1st day of having to try and get both kids across town to their grandma's with out the aid of the bus, OH on late's and i have college tonight.

I should be a size 10 by next week if i keep up with all this walking (bike has puncture :()
  • Tea tree oil is also good for blemishes.
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D
  • sore throat remedy : hot lemonade (any cheapy bottle), teaspoon of honey slice of lemon or juice and two paracetamol/soluble aspirin.

or alternatively use calpol instead of the paracetamol - it makes it very easy to get down if your throat is very sore - I tried this one in pure desperation last time my throat was so sore i couldn't even swallow water... i was very releived when it worked - quickly.

and finally mega cheap - gargle with salty water (as much salt as you can stomach - too much will make you vomit). Have had this recommended by several doctors over the years!

hth. and congrats on your efforts this week.

    DAY 8:j

Well my cravings for shopping seem to be getting better:T

Is it human nature to just want to spend spend spend?

The first few days i was itching to spend it all, it looked so helpless there sitting on my fireplace it wanted to be spent. Now?, now i have a nice pile of crisp clean £20 notes and do you know what? I couldn't bear to be parted from them. Seeing them mount up is probably one of the best feelings and hopefully seeing large chunks of our debts disapear every month will take the knots out of my stomach one by one.

I know it sounds silly but paying bits off my debts gives me a small buzz.
