    Yep, letter arrived this morning from Mr Ball saying that he was sorry that I found his offer unacceptable, he's spoken to his manager and they "exceptionally" will agree to refund me the full amount asked for.

    I've got to sign that I'll take no further action against them and then a cheque will be issued.

    Well done on your result by the way.

    Hi
    Just been reading your posts about Marbles credit card. I have a card with them and have been thinking about claiming charges back. If I do will they make me pay all my balance off which is quite alot and which I cant afford or will I still be able to pay them monthly?
    I also read about you mentioning citi card which I used to have but did pay off ages ago, did you have any luck with them?

    Thanks :beer:

    OK For a start they can't make you pay the balance off unless your reclaimed charges are more than the balance. At worst they will credit your account with the amount you agree on settling for BUT think about it, if your balance is reduced by say £300 then thats a smaller bill each month or you could keep your payments the same and pay it off quicker. Either way you win because what ever you claim is reducing your debt. :)

    In my original letter I offered 'Without Prejudice' to accept 75% of the charges and 4½% interest (being far less than they charge ;)) and to my shock the snapped my hand off and rounded it up to the nearest tenner!

    As for your other card - note: only one of the accounts I'm claiming against is still an open account! All the rest have been closed for at least 2 years :)
    Got It & Spent It :dance:
    IKEA CARD = £120 charges = £175 received (146%)
    MARBLES = £450 charges = £370 received (82%)
    I.F. = £494 charges = £494 received (100%)
    CAPITAL ONE = £981 charges = £1,489.03 (152%)
    BARCLAYCARD = £580 charges = £786.12 (136%)
    On Hold :mad:
    A+L = £722 charges (target = 147%)
    BARCLAYS = £1,405 charges (target = 128%)
    BARCLAYS = £175 charges (target = 140%)
    ABBEY = £3,220 charges (target = 148%)

    Thanx LozBingley, will give it a go then. I was just worried they would the whole balance paying which is quite alot.
  • Can anyone help me please?. I have issued a court summons on Marbles credit cards. They have made me an offer of £8 per monthly charge. This is the difference between the £20 i was originally charged and the £12 charge that the OFT now say is the correct charge. Should i accept this? They say they are sure that is what the courts will award. I have had success with other claims on other cc's but have not been made an offer like this before.:confused:

    I got offered similar by NatWest (before court proceedings). I didn't accept and they later refunded me in full.
  • OFT did not say it was the correct charge,just that anything over £12 was considered unreasonable so the banks/credit card people have taken that to mean £12 is OK which is not what was said. That is just a standard 'put you off ' letter that the credit card companies put out - I'd continued as before.
