Marbles Credit Card (HFC) Response

  • Hi guys

Had a response from Marbles today, after sending 3rd template letter. Saying even though they don't agree they are willing to offer me a goodwill gesture of £100, i'm claiming £177.

I want to accept this but is it worth haggling for anymore as i know we should never accept the 1st offer.

Opinions please...would you refuse? Accept £100 or haggle for more?

I would always go for the full amount, but the decision is up to you. If you're happy with what's being offered, take it. Remember though you can't change your mind later and ask for the rest.
  • Moderator: Please move this to the MARBLES thread as i can't find it!!

After 3rd letter they James Ball offered me £100 goodwill gesture, i said thank you but this wasn't good enough but if they offered me £150 i would accept and drop any further charges. (well it wasd worth a try as they say you should never accpet the 1st offer)

I've had a letter today saying that, exceptionally, they are willing to offer me a goodwill payment of £150!!

    Whhooohhooo!! :T

Don't accept the first Goodwill offer!!

    Hello All,

I know that there are bits of information regarding Marbles scattered all around the site, but was just hoping for a bit of clarification on a couple of issues

I wrote to Marbles and requested that they refund me to the tune of £865. We did the usual dance and they sent me a letter back to say that the charges were legal. I sent them another letter and received a reply from the good James Ball offering me a 'goodwill' payment of £435.

I am pondering what to do next- should i accept the money or is there a good chance i will be successful if i refuse the refund?

Is there a template on the site for this type of letter?

Im just worried that after coming this far i am loathe to make a mistake that compromises everything!

Any suggestions would be much appreciated

Thanks to some great advice from people on here, i managed to reclaim all of my admin charges which had been applied to my Marbles credit card. I have signed the acceptance form and sent this back to Marbles.

Upon checking my account this weekend, Marbles have paid off the outstanding amount on my credit card under the heading of 'Sundry Credit Adjustments'. The problem is, they still owe me over £600 of the total figure and my credit card balance is at zero.

Has anybody out there had any experience of what methods of repayment Marbles would normally use? To be honest, i was expecting to receive a cheque for the amount to allow me to deposit it where i chose. Will Marbles just pay off any outstanding balances on my account until the 'goodwill fund' has been used up?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated?
