Questions for sellers

As a seller myself I always leave feedback as soon as the person has paid me via payPal as that is their part in the transaction complete although I can see that you might get a difficult buyer causing problems later. I always email the buyer when I have recieved payment via paypal to say that I will post the item the next day or whatever.
What annoys me is that I advertise items and choose to receive payment by paypal only but some people wait until they have won the item before asking if they can pay by cheque instead of asking before they bid.
To GK172 I would say, make sure you check the feedback left for any person you buy off of. See if there are any negative comments re delivery times etc and keep away anyone who has a feedback score under 90%0 -
90%! that's a bit generous isn't it!
i'd stay away from anyone below 99/8% 0 -
I agree with Stavros, I certainly wouldn't buy from anyone with less than 98 or more percent positive.

I have received a neg and therefore my feedback is 97.0 as I only have 31 feedback. The neg was a newbie asking for my address which is obviously not real neg feedback.
I have not had any problems with any ebayer but I think that not dealing with anyone below 98 is unfair unless you read the reason for the neg feedback.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.

it might sound unfair but to be honest i normally just look at the feedback score and the % (unless it's an expensive item) so I'm just covering my ar%e

If it helps I've just looked. Paypal acknowledge that I've sent the payment, but any other contact a seller has had has always been initiated by themselves through eBay. If that makes sense?0 -
thanks sofa...that's either very annoying or maybe the sellers you've dealt with just haven't used this feature in paypal? anyone know anything else about it?0

No problem
I've just had another look and the contact I have had (unless I've had to mail with a query) is the type that comes in the "Congratulations - You're the Winning Buyer" mail. Paypal just seem to send confirmation of payment.
Maybe the seller's don't know after all? Maybe that's why some have been so 'silent' lol0 -
hmm...maybe i should see if any sellers use this first lol...anyone? or is it just me?0

Sometimes buyers will write you a message when they pay via paypal,it is lower down on the email paypal send you telling you they have paid. You can write in a message when you send your invoice via ebay. Perhaps some sellers and buyers think that is sufficient correpondence?
I always acknowledge receipt of payment stating when I will post the parcel as I'd hate to be hanging on waiting for a parcel if I was the buyer.0
