Thanks guys, it means a lot. I'm just about to do dinner, and while it's cooking (I'm having wedges!), I shall set out my clothes, prep my answers to the obvious questions, and make the children's lunches for tomorrow. Then I shall watch tv and eat dinner before showering and going to bed. So hope I get it - you guys won't hear the end of it if I get it!!!

I may even take the children out for dinner as a treat!

    I got it!!!!!!!

I'm so proud of myself!! I offered dd and ds any dinner they wanted for tonight, including going out, and dd chose hm pizza!

So they're just busy scoffing that, and I shall eat later. I don't fancy pizza. May make something, or may just have a tin of soup. Don't know yet, and don't really care!

Thanks Rising and Cleggie! I must admit, it's a huge weight off my mind. Now to plan for spending the least amount I've ever spent in a month on the gc! I have a feeling that Flo will rap my knuckles if I mess up!!

The plan - to buy the bread mixes in Mr M, makes them 17p each. If I buy 8 for the month, that's £1.36. If I buy 2 pints of blue milk and half and half it, that's maybe £3 or £4. Fruit and veg: apples £1 a bag (av), 4 bags, £4, bananas £2, grapes £8 dried fruit £3. Carrots, peas, sweetcorn £3. Boring, but cheap. That's £26ish total so far. Then, whatever other incidentals pop up. I reckon I can do it, you know! The only problem is that I buy too much f and v. Still, having that written down in black and white really helps, and shows me that it is possible.

I've started a little book of money tonight. It lists all of my bills/payments/clubs/anything else that I have to buy, month on month. I did have it written out on a sheet of paper, but needless to say I've lost it! So, having a book by the computer will be a help. It will mean I can see how I'm doing, and hopefully inspire me to save a bit more. Maybe!

    Night all!
