Oh, Sl - I won't be getting rid of the fp. I just wondered if I should keep it on the work surface, or in the bread maker's spot in the cupboard. Really, I need a list of things I would do in it, then I'd know if I would do those regularly of not. You've started such a list for me - any more ideas?!?!?!?!?!

And thanks for the interview ideas and breathing stuff. x

    Hi PG :)

I am just wondering how you work out your percentages of your food shop? Do you just total how much you have spent that week/month and then work out what % of your total annual budget that it, and then keep totaling the amounts every week/month?

Your bendy soup sounds lovely! I dont make my own soups as it seems like so much hassle, with straining it etc, but i'll bet it would taste much better than the He!nz rubbish i have!

You are doing really well :)

  • Hi PG have been chuckling at the FP / BM worktop "issues" as go through the same myself all the time!

Currently the SC is on the worktop (which replaced the FP) but I do use the FP more (but the SC is harder to fit in a cupboard/on the shelves)!:o

I'm really bad at forgetting about things in cupboards and *luckily* I have I*kea open shelves on the back wall which I can get the FP / blender / smoothie maker etc on. (I say *luckily* as I absolutely HATE them and hate having stuff on view .... but it does mean I don't forget about them!)

Happy Birthday for tomorrow :D and wishing you the best of luck with the interview on Thurs :) - sounds like a fantastic job and having 2 extra days free for the same money would be wonderful *sigh* just thinking about what I could do with all that extra time off!:o

For percentages, I work it out every now and then. For what I've spent, I add up how much I've spent so far, and divide it by 1680 (my yearly budget) then times by 100. Then for year gone so far, it's days gone/366x100. My figures are out now, so will prob update them in the next few days, but it ain't gonna be pretty!!

Soup is so easy! Literally, you just chop up some stuff, not even neatly, boil it for a bit with a bit of water, a stock cube and some lentils, then whizz it with a stick blender. I don't make tomato soup, as 'it has to be heinz' - unless it's not on offer, then it's value! I stick to veg soup, but figure it has to be better for you.

Thanks everyone for the good vibes. I have more or less chosen what I'm wearing on Thurs now. Just have to plan the actual lesson now! Hmm... priorities?!?!

NSD today as went to church, then had mum over. Church was awesome, as my headteacher was there. She watched me read the lesson, then dd prep the wine and collect the money. So now in the interview when she asks about religion, I can say that we are an established family within the church, and she won't be able to argue!! Bonus! And, makes me feel a little more positive and prepared.

Right, off to do some stuff. I need to make the lunchboxes, sort out clothes for tomorrow, sit and chill for an hour and then do a bit of school work.

    Night all!

Had a good birthday today. Turned 21 (again!). DD organised some really special stuff for me, esp considering she's only 7! Ex dh doesn't bother with doing anything for me, so we do it together - I give dd and ds the money, and take them to a shop, then I walk around with them, pretending not to look, while telling them what I like! For this birthday, I took them to b and q, and showed them five houseplants i like. They were on 3 for 2, so told dd to choose any three she wanted from that selection. My mum was here, so she helped, and then the children presented them to me this morning! Also, dd had decorated a cake for me, which I had made (!). A lovely day, made so special by my lovely children.

nsd, kind of, as I went out for a meal, but that was for my birthday so doesn't count. Pay day today, but still going on April until the end of the month. Already paid bills money into the bills account, and child benefit comes tomorrow, so i can then pay childcare. Other bits coming in in a few days, then can fill up the various purses and jars.

Sorted out my lesson for Thurs now too, and run it by several people at work, and teacher-friends. They all seem to think it's as good as I think it is, so that's positive. Still need to do out a lesson plan, but feel better that I kind of know what I'm doing...

Paid off my whole credit card today. Finally bit the bullet, and took it from the savings. I'd so much rather not pay the interest, but am now worried that I don't have much savings. The big aim now, is to build up the savings. Finally realised how stupid I was being, by paying interest every month, which I could be putting into a savings account.

    Night all,

    Thanks! On all counts.
The observed lesson went really well, got a 'very good with outstanding features', which is almost the best you can get.

I haven't celebrated, other than getting myself a frozen pizza as a treat, as I get bored of the hm ones sometimes! Eating that now, actually. (Obviously a cheapo one, I don't want to get into debt again!!)

I think you're right - Florenceem will keep me on the straight and narrow. I may have done a touch of stocking up tonight, to help me for next month! I know that seems a bit silly, but wanted to give myself a bit of help! Now let the challenge commence...

Off to keep on nomming. Oh, and finish planning the interview lesson for Thursday.
