  • Well done PG, I see you are braver than me with MFW. I have deliberated over this for about three months now but with DS moving out to Uni in two weeks and some work to do to the house and garden, I have been saving for that instead. Looks as though my immediate contribution will be £300 per month (DS's rent) plus I plan to save another £50 per month as an emergency stash in case he can't manage (he really has little idea despite loads of explanation, showing and writing stuff down). He will have to make those mistakes himself. We are waiting for a windows quote (nearly 3 weeks). We would like to replace the 5 really old lead-lights that are a pastiche - they don't belong with the house, are fitted in modern pine frames and are draughty as hell! Maybe next year for MFW for us.
Best of luck with it - I have every confidence in you

Oh rats. Turns out I took my eye off the ball for a few months, well six, and now I have £2100 on my credit card. Seriously, I don't even know how that happened!!
So, thinking about strategies today, will list them tomorrow...

Been very good since last post, no sm spending or Internet shopping. My new plan is to shop once a week, but to have a £5 note for emergencies like bread and milk. Have a farm foods round the corner for that.

Off shopping today with some cash I'll take out. Will leave my cards at home. If the deal I'm bound to find is really with it, I'll have to come back later, which I hope to not be bothered to do. Didn't explain that very well, but it makes sense in my head!! £30 should be MORE than enough, so that's what I'll take. I'll write a list onto my phone, and I'll use the calculator as I go around.

Must check olb today too, as it's getting through the month and I want to make sure I'm ok. Also need to pay off a Christmas bill and pay for car tax. Luckily, I put £100 a month into a car account, so that's all paid for anyway.
    Will report back later...
