^ That's a nice clean MOT sheet you have there :)

Reminds me of a local MOT place that passed my sister's car with no advisories after Kwik Fit filled the page up.

Sidelight, water pump, fanbelt and that's it. The last two needed doing as the car broke at the side of the road that morning.

She wants to get until she retires from the car (anywhere between 3 and 8 years), but we've had it for a while now, and nothing expensive went wrong yet.

Not good for a £900 runaround IME.

My £400 Megane I got end of March has cost me £128 in repairs so far. £98 for new brake shoes, a wheel cylinder and a brake pipe and £30 for new horn.

Really hope I don't need anymore big repairs before next March when MOT is due.

£30 for a horn bloody hell dude you were robbed.. i paid £3.27 from amazon.. granted i had to cut old connector off and crimp some spades on.

so far mines cost me circa £27 all in in the last 8 months and some of it was just cosmetic like a wing and a working dash clock

At the time I priced it up as about £10 on ECP But I agree I wasn't expecting the garage for charge £20 for 2 minutes work fitting. Especially when they probably got it cheaper to start with.

It was a new place with a bunch of fake reviews on their Facebook page - won't be going back.

Another banger driver who'd throw their hat in to help out anyone local :)
  • £510 Renault Laguna off ebay. 55,000 miles, no tax but 6 months MOT and only 2 owners. Bought for my daughter to use for a month (she is visiting from Oz). The car looks and runs beautifully,MTBs a funny light metallic green colour, though looks silver in the sunshine. This is BY FAR the best car I have bought for the money. I will be selling it back on in late July, Early August:j

I wouldn't mind a Laguna after my Megane if I found one cheap like yours.

Nice bit of potential banger trading going on. I have just bid a cheeky £102 on a 2002 laguna, wasn't a serious attempt to buy but you never know, there may be no one else watching it.
