    Very clean under the bonnet-

    Filthy interior-

    Leather needs some TLC-

    I'll get some back to black, and there is moisture in both headlamp units-

    Nice bargain buy and at that vintage I'd be dropping the sump to clear the oil pump mesh and scrape the sludge out.
  • At that price I wouldn't even bother cleaning it, just blast round in it till it drops to bits. Like my car, must be 18 months since I washed it, thats what bangernomics is all about! ;-}

    This ones a keeper- no advisories on the MOT. Tomorrow is operation scrub it clean.
  • Always had a hankering for a 900 turbo before my diesel days, nice car you've got there.
  • Oh, I like that. Much prefer it to a Vectra of any sort :)

    When sitting in it and driving it just feels well thought out as opposed to Vauxhalls attitude of "this'll do". It is very smooth (gearbox), the air vents are massive and the climate control de-mists everything in seconds- also makes a glorious howl when you give it a bootfull. I've gotten up early this morning just to go for a good drive about the country lanes, before I start work on the interior.

    Way too cold to clean it myself today, so I paid the (illegal) migrant workforce to do the job instead....

    Used to be the Poles painstakingly polishing or the Latvians lavishing leathercloths, now it's Romanians religiously rubbing, or Bulgarians bullishly brightening.

    I agree, but I've not been to the car wash for over a year and it has changed, the boss is still Eastern European and fantastically friendly but the staff are now all Afghan/Pakistani. Still did a brilliant job inside and out for £14 but I was there for an hour as cars were queuing up in the sunshine.
    Had a bash with some Turtle Wax carpet cleaner and hopefully my leather cleaner should have turned up tomorrow.
