I suppose some BL cars could be considered classics. The Marina, Princess and Allegro, not for me.....
However, I've always been fond of SD1's. I know they're dreadfully built and all the good ones are kept in storage, but when they are fully assembled and in nice nick, they look really good imo.
They really aren't bad looking.
An optical illuision surely, where by the rest of the background makes the car look nicer than it actually is.
Try posting it in with say, Birmingham in the background.0 -
The Indians are pretty good at re-making old stuff...doing a range of classic bikes too as I recall, possibly Enfield and BSA stuff until recently...
They're quite popular as taxis over there, I've been in one with a bench front seat.0 -
I believe you can still buy a new Morris Oxford there, badged Hindustan Ambassador with a much more modern engine underneath.

They haven't been in production for 4 years now.
The Indians decided a 56-year production run was about right.0 -
First year anniversary for the Fusion this weekend
Running costs as predicted, achieved a full-year average of 61.4mpg. Just got the tax again this morning (£30 annually). Need to spend £40 on a couple of bits for it, but should be good for another year or more

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
How have you got 61 mpg? Is it a diesel?0

The Fusion is one of those cars with poor image but no real problems. Very mse.0

And only £30 tax? I thought old deisels would be £220 a year?
A proper bangernomics car the Fusion 0 -
I can't imagine anything worse than a brown Austin Princess, with brown interior, brown steering wheel, brown bodywork, brown sunvisors, brown roof lining...... everything just...... brown.
Then again, a brown Allegro? With it's brown 'square' (for some reason) steering wheel.
Was it the Marina, Allegro or the Princess that had a habit of popping the rear glass out when jacked up incorrectly?
My first car in 1991 was a hand me down 1979 850cc mini- in turd brown! I couldn't understand that my Great Uncle had walked into a mini showroom and bought a car brand new and when asked about the colour choose the colour of a turd. The mind boggles! Red, white or perhaps a green sir? No, I'll take the brown.
I hope it never makes a retro 70's comeback.0 -
