Hospital carparks, not the place to park a £30k Audi.0

1- You dont have to shop at that supermarket if you dont like its car park while unfortunately you can not pick and choose at the work car park.
2- Supermarket car park is free (the money you are paying are for the goods you are buying) while we pay £25/month to park at work
1. Good point. No one is forcing you to work at a specific location, if you aren't happy with the working conditions you could always find a job elsewhere. Alternatively as custardy has pointed out you could find alternative parking sites.
2. Supermarket car parks are not "free". Car park costs are factored into the prices of goods.clearly some people would like to write here just for the sake of writing..no knowlege and no sensible advice..My question was about the legal rights of my colleague and not about where do I park my car!!!..thank you any way will look for help somewhere else
It is unclear what solution you are looking for from the Motoring Board if you want information about the legal rights of your colleague. It may be worth posting on the Employment, Jobseeking & Training board for advice.0 -
that would suggest to me,hospital security staff
not car park
Could be linked to an office in the car park. If its a multistorey its quite common to have intercoms / phones on each floor.
Seriously though, despite working 4 different jobs in the world of parking, I'd prefer to go with your experience ex postie as you clearly have a better understanding than me of how it all works.0 -

Im not sure why my experience is any less than yours? ex parking money0 -
We have been forced to use the car park as the they put double yellow lines every where else on hospital premises and we are not allowed to use visitors car park. Parking around the hospital is not an option as it is a residential area and staff had their cars damaged in the past (paint stripers, scratches, smached windows...ets) by angry residents...I live 25 miles away from the hospital so public transport is not an option
If your car is getting damaged in the car park as well why not just park on the residential streets? At least it's free and you've got some idea of who damaged your car, it'll likely be the person who's house your parked outside.what would you do if you were a hospital visitor and your car gets damaged at the hospital car park you have paid to park in?
Honestly, I wouldn't be expecting the hospital to pay out, I'd accept it as a risk of owning a car and fix it myself.
You said you only wanted to know where your friend stands legally but this was answered in the first reply. Your friend has no legal comeback for this, like anywhere that your leaving your property unattended they won't be responsible for any damage and they'll be a sign saying so.
I honestly don't see what difference it makes being a paid car park or a work car park.
I, like many people don't get a parking space at work. My only option is a public one at £10 a day which I obviously don't use. Please don't say your forced to use this car park because it simply isn't true. There are a number of other options available to you which people have helpfully pointed out.0 -
I wonder how many consultations park there nice shiny expensive cars, then off to the 19th hole or do some private workSgt_Pepper wrote: »Hospital carparks, not the place to park a £30k Audi.0

How is it the hospitals fault the car got damaged., it could get damaged any where. I know its annoying but as always said the hospital responsibility is for its patients for most and well being of its staff the fact they provide any car park they do so as a gesture. They put notices up to warn people about liability and thus cover themselves within reason of course. They cant be held liable if some nutter decides to have a go at your carclearly some people would like to write here just for the sake of writing..no knowlege and no sensible advice..My question was about the legal rights of my colleague and not about where do I park my car!!!..thank you any way will look for help somewhere else0

So what happened to all the hospitals great claims they were charging for car parks so they could improve security.
Indeed, page 6 of the charter at Leeds for example.

So regardless of the meaningless sign, if the hospitals are happy to charge, they're going to find with that they can't dodge the responsibilities that go with it.0 -
