    Hi everybody,

Thanks for your comment jess444 regarding the importance of a better fitness level but not necessarily through weight decrease. I've tried to keep overall health the greater concern. Also, thanks fredsnail for the charts.

I'll do the weigh-in too efrieze.

Well I'm Jewish and so I don't do Christmas - so I have no excuse!

My cousins-in-law are Jewish, but last time we were over there to see them they were talking about Christmas just the same as anyone else does. 'What does he want' that kind of thing. No idea what they plan to eat - didn't get that far.

I was asked yesterday to try and lose more weight, and to improve my cardio-respiratory health, before the planned cosmetic surgery, which is now agreed for Saturday 19th January, which is approx a month away. I explained that I'd come down from 83 kg in 2005, to 68 kg now, but have a bit more to lose. That's about 2 1/4 stone, and I don't like any of the photos that DH has on file that he took in all those years. From bra size 36GG have been offered the opportunity to go to 36A/B. Looking forward to it.

    Hi all

I've re-considered my previous comment, realising I was giving myself permission to go overboard before the big day so I've decided I'll weigh-in on Christmas morning.

Me too Beanie. There has been so many mince pies, biscuits and chocolates in work is has been hard to resist. This morning I have had heartburn, something that I used to suffer a lot before I started eating healthily and gave up bread and pastry, etc. Reminds me of how carp I used to feel most of the time.

I will post Boxing Day. I may as well find out the damage sooner rather than later :o

    Merry Christmas everybody! :santa2:

The Christmas day weigh-in resulted in another STS which is quite a surprise as OH and I have already hit the Roses! MIL gave us a tin for Christmas and I was determined to keep it unopened until the big day at least, sadly we've succumbed already...! You can only eat them once.

Best wishes to everybody - eat drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die(t)! :D

I'll post tomorrow as it's Wednesday, as usual. I'm going for elective surgery on Saturday 19th January and had to go and see the anaesthetist last week. The surgeon wouldn't agree to do it without the anaesthetist's say-so. Anyway, he asked me to try to lose a bit more weight before then and also 'improve my cardio-respiratory fitness'. In addition to walking along the sea-front, walking uphill into the wind, I've joined Elite Fitness which is just round the corner and I intend to go as often as possible before the 19th, most days except for when they close for Christmas and when we're away, 4 nights over New Year.

We just had our Christmas meal - a huge free-range chicken, most of it left - we'll be eating it all week! We planned to cook a Tesco Christmas pudding but didn't feel like it - we may have it later this evening!

My only indulgence - went to church this morning, a traditional Book of Common Prayer Holy Communion service. There were so few of us there, but we had mulled apple-juice afterwards and I really couldn't be churlish, so I had one warm mince-pie and a slice of iced Christmas cake. That's it. Apart from the Christmas pudding that will be my only indulgence.

We meant to go out for a walk afterwards but will probably do it tomorrow instead.

    Hello everybody,

From last Wednesday, STS. I have still been doing exercise with just one "lost the plot" very high calorie day which was unrelated to Xmas. So over the course of the month, for the 5lb challenge, no change. Not to disappointed as have clues to what effort is required. Also, several obstacles this time of year as well as ill health but will persevere.

    Good luck/health.

Merry Christmas to you all :santa2:

I had a lovely day. Newlywed DD2 invited us for lunch, so for the first time in many years I was not cooking :j Unfortunately that left me with lots of time for eating, resulting in a 3 lb gain this week.

Another lazy day today, with family visiting for lunch. Gym opening again tomorrow so will get back to exercising then.

Enjoy the rest of the holidays everyone.
