Good luck ticking things off your list today. I have just made a 2-day list, it's a bit full, mainly jobs to do around the house - the children are still away with their dad, and not back until Friday, and I don't want to feel that I have wasted this time, and end up having to spend time with them tidying and cleaning when we could be having fun!

I put my rubbish out this morning, and then got straight back into bed for a lie in. Got up around half ten. Now made list and raring to go (yeah right!), so going to put the kettle on, get the toons on, and get going!!

Have a good day, enjoy the woods!

    Have a good day PG.
I know what you mean re wanting to get all the housework done before the kids come back. I am the same when my kids go to their dads house.
That reminds me, i must call him to see if he is having the kids for a few days next week, it may save me some food shopping £!

Went to the woods in the end. Thought there was no point moping around around at home so the walk would do us all some good.

Anyone that has pre teen boys- HELP! I love my 12 year old son to bits, really i do, but AARRGGHH he is a NIGHTMARE! Talk about Kevin & Perry! He is constantly miserable unless he is on the laptop, which i have now banned because he swore at me. How on earth are we going to survive the teenage years??

Oh, and phoned the ex who said he wants to have the kids next wed-fri so i think i'll save about £20 on next weeks shooping :)

Hi Cleggie - good to see you got out for a walk.

I know what you mean about teenage boys and not wanting to frighten you or anything but these years are tuff:eek::eek:. My DS is coming out the other end and I sometimes wonder how we survived. Still has his moments mind, but these are getting less and is now becoming quite a nice adult;). The thing that got me through alot of it was realising that it wasn't all his fault as the part of his brain (frontal lobe) isn't fully developed until around the age of 19 so he couldn't multi-task for example - I just used to ask him to do one thing at a time instead of 2 or more!

    Good luck:)

edit: suppose that goes for girls too, but my DD doesn't seem to be as bad as my DS was

hahaha, i think you just did :rotfl:!!

No, i know its not his faut, bless him, but its so hard to deal with him now that timeout on the naughty step isnt an effective punishment ;)! Thanks for the words of advice though MM, they are really appreicted. You are always given advice and support for when they are babies, toilet training, weaning, starting school etc, but no one ever tells you that thats the EASY bit! :D

Dinner tonight is HM pizza. I bought everything i needed for it week ago but never got round to making them. We are having it with potato croquettes, yummy!

Going to treat myself to a nice glass of wine with it too, as its been a stressful day with the son.

    Oh, positives for today:
    -Got out for a walk
-Set up my bills all online (cap 1, Water, BT) so that i can keep an eye on my usage.
-Got an expanding file thing to keep all household bills, bank statements and vouchers etc, in.
    -Avoided the SM :)
-Did 4 out of the 6 things on my 'to do' list.

I've been thinking for a while that my daughter is entering the teenage years - she's 7!!! Very like me, and very strong willed!

Well done for doing most of your to do list. I didn't do much of mine, as I feel like carp so I sat on the sofa watching tv and eating junk all day. Supposed to be going out to a meeting tonight, but thinking of ringing to cancel my attendance as I'm still feeling rubbish. Also feeling bad that I didn't do anything, but I couldn't have done it to any effect today. Ho hum.

We love homemade pizza for tea! In fact, I always keep chopped up ham, pineapple and mozzarella in the freezer for such occasions.

Sounds like you've got yourself more organised today - I think that will help your head too - I tend to feel better if my house is tidy and clean. My assistant at work could always tell if my house was tidy or not!!

Have a rest this evening, and congratulate yourself for going out today when you didn't want to. Exercisy-endorphinny-type things!

Sorry to hear you were feeling carp today PG, do you know why? I cant remembe if you suffer with depression (sorry if i sound presumptious, but i have an awful memory!!)? Or was just a down day?

I really cant believe how having £0 for the week hasnt bothered me. I havent even spent the emergency £5 yet! Reckon i'll have to get bread and milk tomorrow though.

    Hi Cleggie.

I have suffered from the big D in the past, but I don't let it affect me now, having developed lots of ways to bring myself out of various funks.

Today it was illness, a raging cold, and the worst cough/sore throat I can ever remember having. Yuck yuck yuck. A well-deserved day of sitting on the sofa eating carp was prescribed (by me!), and now feeling better. Made myself get dressed and go out this evening, went to tesc0 to get some more generic lemsips. Obvioudly I bought more than that, but only spent £7.something, which was some of the more urgent things from my list, and also some finest mediterranean bread which I would never buy for £1.25 but got it for 35p to try - it's lush! and some value soft cheese with garlic and herbs as I have a friend over for lunch tomorrow and I shall do twice cooked jackets with salad. That will be sooooo much healthier than anything I have eaten today!!

Hope I feel better enough to do some more bits round the house tomorrow, not much achieved today.

    Chat soon!

PG - do you have any £stores near you as the lemsips/cold remedies are alot cheaper than Mr T (well they are a £ to be honest:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:) Hope you feel better soon

Sorry Cleggie for highjacking your thread - hope you have had a good evening:)

    Morning!

Florenceem- i guess you are right (are you my conscience, LOL), i think i might put the fish and chips on this weeks menu and have something different on next Thursday.
I am just desperate to use up all that blinkin fish!! Oh well, i'm sure the fish pie will use up a good chunk of it :)

I actually managed to sleep through the night last night, for the first time in ages!! I woke up briefly twice, but went straight back to sleep, which means i have woken up this morning feeling a bit more alive!

PG- yes i am most definitely feeling better now that the dissertation is over and done with! I have written a timetable for my exam revision too, so i feel a bit more on top of things now.

    What i will do today:
    Avoid SMs
    Check OLB
    Exam revision
Walk in the woods with the kids
    Put washing away
    Tidy kids room
    Clean bathroom

I have managed to avoid the SM for the past 2 days, today will be the 3rd day!
Quite happy to be your conscience. I am a right old bossy boots - typical Virgo.
