    Hi IADF :j

I am sure it will be great to have your DD home :) It will be great for her to be able to save the money.
I wish I could go home to mum but it would be an awfully long way to commute :rotfl:

Sunday already and still plodding along ! I left work at 5.00 on Friday & it was still daylight so getting there ! Before we know it , it will be March !!!!

Eldest had a bit of a shock on Friday as I had to go to the shop & get cat food, toilet/kit roll washing powder etc etc. Also got a pizza for dinner and some sausages & bacon - he asked how much my three bags came to - when I said nearly £30 he was gobsmacked "but you haven't got anything here Mum" ..... Exactly !!! He seemed genuinely shocked bless him ... Welcome to the real world my boy :D

Lots to do today, all the usual and a bit of a wardrobe sort out to list on eBay .... I must have some jeans that fit me surely ??!!! I am glad to have finally put on the weight & be keeping it on , but nothing fits :) Never happy us girls lol.

Home backing treats is not working .... Friday night flapjacks and chocolate crispies .... Gone :rotfl:

Morning Coco, was wondering where you'd got to!
I've been trying to take a leaf out of your book this last few weeks and have cut our grocery bill by over £20 with little noticable difference in the contents of the fridge, other than it being less full. Also decided to homebake treats, but then went on to buy a selection of choc and nibbles yesterday too-so much for sticking to the list! Was all in Ald! Tho so not much damage done to the budget :rotfl

    Hi Katz .....
    Good on you !
I think we have learnt there are some basics we just can't use and lots we don't notice the diffeference on - happy medium I guess ?
I wish I had an Aldi where I live - nearest one is next to work but last thing I want to do after work is go in there though and I don't really get a long enough lunch break to go then.... It seems daft to drive in at the weekend and waste £6 petrol. My only choice here is Mr T or Mr M - prob why I spend do much on food :D

I wouldn't recommend you hit Ald! when feeling tired tbh Coco, its all a bit crammed in and the fact they don't stock all brands you recognise can make it harder to navigate- its surprising how much you rely on things like the He!nz label to find the beans or tomato ketchup! Plus, they put all the crisps cakes and chocs right by the front so there is no way to avoid them, its like running the gauntlet as you go in!
at least you know it's there so you can shave a few quid off the shopping bill should you ever get in really dire straits again.
Hope you have a good week

    Hi coco.
its Friday and I'm drinking wine, in fact may have just poured the last glass of the bottle whist also eating choc from ald! They do posh dark choc that looks like big bars but is actually individually wrapped smaller bars which not only tastes good but stops OH eating the whole lot in one go :)
How's life going for you? has your ex moved yet? Hope your weekend is good

I know what you mean with the winter fog. I suffer pretty badly and this last week has been dreadful. Been moody and on the verge of tears all week, which has timed itself nicely with an observation, a parents eve and a few big issues with kids. I know this entire bottle of white to myself will be regretted in the morning but it was SO needed. Week off now to include some serious crafting, a few days chilling at my parents house, some MSE bank account switching and the big switch off of our extortionate cable tv supplier. I know I will be grateful of the extra cash but it will be a shock to our system to be entirely without tv from Monday :(

Hope you have a restful week Katzen :)

Just done my Mr T shop £78 but I didn't really do a shop last week so not too bad ..... And that did include a bottle of wine :o that's my second this week  Feeling coldey though so am going to get pjs on by 7pm and watch a film with a glass of wine and a bag of basics tortilla chips ... They are yummy and only 49p for a big bag :)

Need to do some more eBay sorting tomorrow ... I have 2 watchers on a £20 item so fingers crossed ! Have about £40 to last till Friday so should be fine. Only have 3 days work this week so hope to scrape through on £10 petrol .... Not too bad all things considered :)

Have done my meal plan for this week up to Thursday - Thursday night is scrabble around dinner from nothing kind of night so probably omelette & super noodles :D or something equally as random !

Going to try to "cancel" my sky again this month and see if I cam get another 1/2 price period .... Worth a try I think :) Only have 4 pymts left on work loan :j Then I can start using 1/2 that money towards debt & half for deposit fund (or emergency fund which is what happened last time !!!) Have been on this site about a year now and all in all , have scraped through this 12 months pretty darn well !!! Thanks to you guys :T

Have a good day all x

    Morning Coco.

Can I suggest that you have a serious think about the above, it may be that there's another option. You could do as you say and use half the money to pay off debt and half towards a deposit. Have a think about putting it all towards a deposit.

Doing this will enable you to move sooner and moving should mean you struggle less and have more money available to live and settle your debt.

You need to work out if saving half of the loan money is a better option or getting a deposit sooner and moving would be better for you and the family and give you more options to pay off the debt.

    I hope that makes sense.

What I'm trying to say is that your first reaction is to reduce the debt as soon as possible and I'm sure the people you owe money to would agree, but then they would because that's whats best for them.

They haven't had any of that money so far and it might just be best for you to use it differently. By moving sooner you could be in a better position, one that would give you more choice and, more importantly, better control over how you deal with both the debt and your life.

You'll need to work it out but don't just do the obvious without deciding if it's the best approach.
One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.
