TGI February !
Glad you are a bit brighter coco.
my tip for the weekend..... Sainbos has first cape rose wine box for £5.99 !!:)
I justify it by it being cheap and low alcohol and its my treat for the week ?LIVE SIMPLY * GIVE MORE * EXPECT LESS * BE THANKFUL0 -
Thank you all for your tips
Did ok with shop yesterday , one of those weeks where stuff we use was on special :T Also got stuff to bake some treats today. Also need to list some eBay bits.
Ex has now moved to new place. It's closer so, in theory, he should Starr having boys now. Will give him a couple of weeks to settle and see what happens .......
House across the road has just sold for £10k less than I would need on this one. That's food for thought ..... If everything settles down and we can carry on with the "nice" I will sit it out. I really need to get back to having deposit/rent money saved so that needs to be the focus againOn the QT, it's making me slightly nervous with the ex being so much closer but we will see - I am not going to worry about problems that dont yet exist
I have 20 mins left of me time this morning then it's on with it ! Kids were up till after one last night playing on the PS though there was lots of laughing and no bad language so I left them to it
Should give me peace & quiet this morning!

Good morning Coco, I thought I'd pop in and say Hi. :hello: I've read your whole diary and am amazed at how far you have come in a year. I'm fairly certain with your determination you will succeed in all you decide eventually.
I hope OH living so much closer eases your pressure a bit rather than adds to it but as you say, no point worrying about it until it becomes a problem that needs sorting.

Have you ever made your own?
Strictly speaking what I make is granola but it's delicious.
250g jumbo rolled oats - big porridge oats.
50g flaked almonds
50g pumpkin seeds
50g sunflower seeds
50g butter
squeeze of honey - 5 to 6 tablespoons
zest of an orange
Mix dry ingredients in bowl put butter and honey in microwave to melt then pour into dry ingredients and mix to all coated.
Put on a baking tray and cook at 180 for 15-20 mins stirring every 5 mins.
I make double so I don't have to do it as often. I eat it with dried cranberries or other dried or fresh fruit. Lovely:T
The above is a basic recipe and can be changed to suit. I've found that leaving out the orange zest makes it very bland, I didn't have an orange on that occasion.
I also use orange blossom honey from Aldi which gives an even better flavour. I also sometimes add a bit of golden syrup which again changes the flavour.
I've messed with the formula in all manner of ways and will add a word of caution.
I made one batch and experimented with the seeds. It was delicious but there was an unfortunate side effect, one that made amoebic dysentery look like a bad case of constipation
You know that phrase 'the bottom has fallen out of my world'? well the I experienced the opposite where the world fell out of my......
The moral of that tale is to stick to the basic recipe. One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -
Mr T I was thinking how yummy that recipe sounded .... Until I got the end  Oh dear
Just been out and did my running around ..... I am seriously considering putting my pjs back on again ... Who says you can't clean the loo in your pjs ???!!!!The final chapter - £4893 to go out of £30K0 -

Mr T has pork jt on half price so may pick one up tomorrow , can do 2 or 3 meals from that. Will have a look tomorrow and see what they are like.

Morning Coco. Hope your weekend is going well?
My dd1 aged 26 is moving home in a few weeks after 4 years. She's so fed up of almost all her wages going on bills and getting really down. By moving home shell have to spend £100 per week on travelling to work but that's still less than half of what she pays towards rented flat.
Downside is been using spare bedroom as dumping ground for everything and its full up. Can't even see the bed. So lots of tidying to do just don't know where I'm gonna find homes for all the stuff!
Well done on using value range. I use value pasta. also not that I get every week but salt and paracetamol caplets are fine. And dd1 used to love value porridge oats. She's gluten intolerant now so can't anymore!
Chin up. Just remember there will be an end to this. Then you'll have money but be too tight to spend it! :rotfl::rotfl::hello: The grass is not greener, it just looks that way from a distance :hello:0
