Cat missing :( ....update... **FOUND :)))**

Just wondered if anyone had any advice or suggestions as to what to do next.
One of our cats hasn't been seen since monday night. I was uneasy all day yesterday then when she didn't come in for her tea I got a bad feeling. No sign of her today. I have put loads of posters up in our surrounding streets , walked around calling her, checked bushes...just waiting for the neighbours to all come back so I can go round and check.
I have phoned and left details with both vets in our area and registered on nationalmissingpet site.
Posters up in the shops and have checked with builders working on the road in case she has wandered into one of the houses...
What else can I do??
Am trying to convince myself she has decided she fancies a change of home. However , this may not be so far from the truth...we have had an unwanted cat visiting in the night and she was very jumpy wheneever she heard the cat flap go, so I wonder if she is scared to come home because of this other cat.
Any ideas anyone??:(

Sorry to hear about your cat it's still early days so hopefully it will just show up soon but I know how you feel mine was stuck in a neighbours garagev5 doors away for 15 days so pleased when we got him back.
If you are insured they may pay for advertising we used AnimalsearchUK they got so some weather and tamper proof poster plus leaflets. Also anyone can then ring their 24 hour free phone number.
Best advice they gave us was cats don't tend to wonder more than 10 houses In either direction from home that was true for us.
Good luck and keep calling and looking hope you get the cat home soon.Moved to Denmark for FIRE by Aug 2025 “May your decisions reflect your hopes not your fears”

I hope your cat comes back soon. I know how you feel, my cat didn't come back one day and she ALWAYS came back for food. I worried all night convinced I would never see her again and in the morning went outside looking for her.
I heard miaowing by my garage and opened it up and she was in there. It was wednesday and I know I hadn't opened my garage since the saturday before and I had seen her on Tuesday morning. I still have no idea how she got in.
Get your neighbours to check garages and sheds and go round the nearby houses calling her name.0 -
When our cat went missing I was advised to visit the neighbours and ask them to check their sheds and garages, to make sure the cat hadn't been locked in.
Vacuum the house and put the contents in a pile by the back door, or put their litter box outside the backdoor. I was told it helps them recognise their 'home smell'.No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!0 -
Great ideas, thanks!
Will make up some flyers now, ready to put through doors and put the hoover bag and my scarf outside for familiar smells.
Any more ideas, please keep them coming!Just keep passing the open windows.0 -
You must feel desperate - I would
but these stories do have happy endings much of the time.
Please check what details you have put on the posters - we have one outside ours just now but among all the details about the lost cat the owner hasn't put what colour it isYou never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0 -
Hope your cat gets found soon.0

Ok,
I made a little poster with a good photo of her on it and asking people to please please check their sheds, garages and gardens for her with a little description and my details... Have copied it 50 times and posted it on the streets around me. Just had a phone call from a man who lost a cat last week saying he saw one that fitted her description earlier today so I went up that street but no sign.
I have been out calling her and rattling the biscuit box too.
What else...I will keep going out every few hours I guess.
The bin men are due tomorrow morning so will try and get out to ask them too...may ask the postie too.
I just want to be able to get into peoples back gardens and look myself!!Just keep passing the open windows.0 -
Archie was missing for a few days a while ago and it was AWFUL so know just how you feel.
I did the flyers etc but was convinced he was stuck in someone's garage - it had been a beautiful Sat afternoon and lots were open (people tend to just leave them open around here if it's nice) when there'd been a huge thunderstorm so I was convinced he'd taken shelter in one (even tho' I've got a kennel for them to hide in).
Went round and checked all the garages and no joy .... few days later my neighbour opened her garage door and out he popped!
And yes ... we'd been in that one! (wee monkey!) She thinks he was probably chasing the mice!
Fingers crossed she's home soonGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
