My neighbours are unbelievable

  • Bit of a quick update: They rung us earlier to say that they had been to the law centre and "are waiting on a call back from their solicitor" before they take any further action. This just seems like i'm being set up in some elaborate tv "gotcha" but sadly I know it's true.

    !!!!!! is the 'law centre'?!

Seriously, my Mrs and I are peeing ourselves here. She's just said "that's cheered me up" She's been off sick today, first time in years. Hard working and honest she is, not like your neighbours!

I definitely think this is a wind up!

Apologies if it's genuine, but I've haven't laughed so much in ages!

I hope they haven't been sharing other things of yours, such as your Broadband.

I would definitely report these low-lifes for benefit fraud, regardless of how the insulation thing goes.

Can't wait to see how this pans out. :D

  • I just read the OP and nearly choked laughing.

There is actually a "law centre" in our town, it's a bit like a CAB.

This thread is hilarious though, how the OP resisted laughing in the neighbour's face I'll never know
  • Surely if they get all into it with the courts about your heating and the cavity wall it will just leave them open to questions about their benefits and the dog etc. they would be better off keeping quiet as they could lose everything if they carry on!
good luck getting it sorted, can't believe they have been stealing your heat.

This has to be a joke. To get us wound up like.

On the other hand, I have no doubt that some "entitlers" really believe that they can live off everyone else.

And another thing, would their law centre be free legal aid or something, because they can? The mind boggles at the solicitors who might take this on, but then again if they are paid by the taxpayer do they care?

Sorry, troll alert maybe. But maybe not. If not, you should have moved house and spent the insulation money on a better area. But better areas do not mean better neighbours all the same!

Still, this episode is a bit ott.
  • Am I the only person thinking this is a wind up thread like the 'buyers camping on our drive' one!!

I was just going to post asking whether these neighbours also wanted to bury the benefit-supported dog (they no doubt have one) in the shared garden ....

Definitely the same style of writing .... and equally entertaining ... had me spluttering with laughter ....!

Can't wait to see how this one pans out! Having lived next to some unbelievable neighbours in my time I can imagine people doing this. If it is a wind up then thanks for the entertainment!

Don't worry about court. People often threaten this because they know it scares people witless, but honestly can you see any sane judge siding with your neighbour? There are some sane judges - aren't there?

Quick point - the loft space will be seperated - fire regs -otherwise fire could spread from one property straight into the other.

Hmmm....like These were, then? (And before you say it, the roofs in question were only put on a few years previously!)

OP - if this is true, then you have possibly the world's worst neighbours. As for the court thing, don't worry about it, there is no way you'll be going there about this issue!

  • Hi everyone, quick post before bed. Sorry I haven't replied but we've been busy playing Wii sports!

Sorry to dissapoint but this isn't a wind up, as much as i wish it was. Think what you like though :)

Heard nothing from them since the phonecall earlier, so hopefully they had their call back and were told to get lost. And yes, the law centre is where you can get free legal aid and the like I think.

    Thanks for the support everyone.
