  • Would it be helpful if I provided a breakdown of what you should be entitled to? Perhaps you are not receiving everything as you believe?

No we are receiving EVERYTHING we are entitled to. we have had it checked and double checked recently but thanks
  • Where? He has specifically said he was turned down for DLA so gets nothing for that?

Ross states that he receives LRC.

Perhaps if you are a benefits advisor then you will be bound by client confidentiality and should be discussing this well away from a public forum. Otherwise, if you are someone just wanting to help, it might just be a little more sensible to suggest that Ross sees a professional advisor to check his benefits, if you suspect he may be entitled to more. Kindness of heart need have no further comment to make than that, and it's touching to see that you are so kindly concerned that he recieves the correct amounts.

A benefits advisor is only bound by confidentiality when advising as part of their work. I am not here in a professional capacity.

No problem. I trust you have no objection to me posting what you should be receiving?

my husband has just been changed from incapacity benifit to the new fangled work thing. he had a work related accident 15 years ago,it was a lifting accident. he has nerve and disc damage, scar tissue damage and is in 24hour a day pain, he is taking morphine plus other strong pain tablet,s.he has also had 8 mini strokes, has type 2 diabiteis,a liver complaint and on 8th of march he has an appointment to see his new employment and support adviser. so i think it,s going to go well, dont you,,not.

I would love to be a fly on the wall at that meeting and I feel sorry for the 'employment support advisor' who will have their work cut out in finding suitable employment opportunities for your husband. Your situation is astounding, the benefits system is going mad!!!

I wish you and your husband luck and hope that they will see the error of their ways, the numpties x

The ESA advisor will ask if there is anything they can do to assist him in finding work, for instance training or looking at reasonable adjustments that may be made. They will not force your husband to seek work in any way.

Re your second point above, NO I am not saying that! I have no idea! largely because the questions remain unanswered! Ross said it was harder to live on £11k than a wage, and all I'm saying is that as readers we can't compare the two, because we don't know if the £11k has to pay for housing/ct.

That's fair enough, I do understand your point zig.

It's still an issue that could and should take up an entire thread to itself really. This thread is not about these issues, its about an entirely different set of issues. Why not open a new thread to discuss this whole new issue, or ask that it becomes the next highlighted topic for discussion?
  • No problem. I trust you have no objection to me posting what you should be receiving?

and the point would be what exactly? i do wish everyone could get over the money issue as thats not what this is about

No, he said he gets DLA lower rate care.

To clarify any misunderstanding, and hopefully it will help you also. Your husband appears to wish to pursue his enjoyment of writing. He will not be able to do this if he is unable to justify/ quantify his assertions.
