Oh Koloko, I am sorry, hope you feel better for your rant.
Can you invite other guests, even at this short notice, can you claim anything under wedding insurance.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
:eek:omg!
11!!!!!
All that money.......
I can not imagine how you feel.
Can you 'replace' them maybe?Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
Could you perhaps "upgrade" some friends who only had evening invites? I would think that you may have another couple of cancellations yet, for illness, it always happens so don't take it too personally.
As for your mother.......the end is in sight and she will revert to normal after next week.
As for the weather.......it is February!!
Good luck and have a wonderful day.0 -
Screw you.
All of you.
All eleven of you.
I don't consider babies, babysitters, exams, builders or your work reasonable excuses. I've known you all for years. I went to your weddings. You could have told me a month ago and saved me £1045.
And of all the mothers to turn into the wedding mother from hell, why did it have to be mine. Why couldn't it have been my fiances.
And why is rain forecast for next week.
I think it's helped getting this off my chest, thanks.
OMG!!!!!!!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: That is my NUMBER ONE bugbear about wedding guests - refuse the invitation if you have to, rather than cancelling late on! Totally selfish imho. And, as you say, you went to their weddings. Some people have a nasty habit of forgetting that once they're married.
Also, ELEVEN OF THEM??? How much is that as a % of the total number of guests?7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs

That's awful. Are they not married? Do they not remember or realise the problems this causes???!!!
I really hope you have some "back up" people to fill their spots.
Don't worry about the rain - order some wedding umbrellas and think about how little you will actually be outside. It rained the morning of my wedding but then went fine. We had some photos outside, but some great ones indoors too. And I've seen gorgeous wedding rain pics - just google wedding & rain and look at the images!Virtual Sealed Pot Challenge #148 - £59.93

Personal Opinion.
£100 a head-- You must come by your money easier than I do.
I have a family wedding coming up in the summer and if I could get out of it I would be delighted.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
then don't go. seriously. no-one wants someone there who doesn't want to be there. it's a buzz kill for everyone.Personal Opinion.

£100 a head is a lot to me, but it's not my wedding and if this is planned and budgeted for, why not?! some people choose to do that. even if they'd spend 50p a head, cancelling at this late notice is just plain rude. (obviously last minute emergencies can come up, but if you say yes to a wedding, you know you have to organise a babysitter or you don't get building work done at the same time. they are avoidable options):happyhear0 -

I do not see what cost has to do with ? Whether the op pays £100 a head or £20 a head the situation is the same.
So are you saying you think it is ok to say you are going then you will cancel a week before?
I do not understand the point of your post.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0
