congrats on your lovely news Ed. When is BabE due?
PB - it was me quizing Ed on LED light bulbs. I came to the conclusion that using up existing supply of spare bulbs was wisest move. Once that supply has been exhausted I'll start looking to replace with LEDs as the need arises.know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
Thanks PD, over the moon :T
BabE due at the tail end of August. Hopefully he/she doesn't take after Dad - apparently I was 4 weeks late!

Apparently I was a fortnight late. They say that how you enter the world is how you are in it. Are you less than punctual in life in general? The less said about LEDs the better, another one of ours just crapped out

Think I'd be taking them back to the shop! Or writing to manufacturer, after all they are not living up to the claims being made. I've been buying them to replace the halogen bulbs in my kitchen light fitting(now they were blowing on a regular basis) but the LEDs have been lasting ok. I think mine are Asd@ own brand.Busymumofthreeplusdog......

I've returned almost all of the Am@zon sold ones, but they're now so old (in the usual shopping terms) that just replacing them is considerably less stressful. The GU10s? (halogen replacements) are fantastic, the only variety we've had with no failures.0

That's the ones I've got. Though put a couple of normal bulb types in new sitting room lamps just before Christmas, so far so good, hopefully will last...........:oBusymumofthreeplusdog......

I made the switch to LEDs but it was after a long chat with someone at Np0wer who told me that you have to check the output and the wattage - I was all for buying a load off the interwebz and in the end went to a local electrical wholesaler and replaced my living room and study ones with pretty high quality LEDs.
Maybe later I will get the kitchen down lights re-done as the lounge, office and kitchen are where I use lighting the most.
Imagine my glee when I discovered that one of the printer cartridge sites I use via TCB sells the same kind ...- Mortgage @ March 2008: £194,965 ; Lightbulb Moment: July 2011: £164,926; End Date: March 2033

Hi Hurdler.
Ours were the best that I could find at the time (Philips ones predominantly, certainly not cheap!)
I think I'm just paying the price for being an early adopter, if we re-visit this topic in 5 years I'm sure everyone will be using them- £3 to Freedom Fund
