Hey PB, just keeping a low profile because real life is feeling a bit like a fist fight at present, with disputes, worries and tiredness around every corner.
The bad- Still no luck with Scottish Power - now trying to embarrass them on FB!
- Pension dispute with work now makes sense. Our payroll processor thought I wanted to pay 5%, as opposed to 6%. Work claim they're not disputing my claim, but there are a lot of weasel words being used that make me suspicious
- I've physically moved at work and without meaning to sound like a meany, I'm surrounded by thickos who talk about the Kardashians and are boring gambling fiends. It's doing my head in
- New boss in my area quit after less than 2 months, doesn't say much for the area?
- Many, many dead fish. Think I'm down to only 2 or so alive
Now the good, which is much more significant!- Mrs E in great health, baby is now the size of an avocado
- Lots of QT with Mrs E, she now likes international rugby?!
- Savings pots go well (see sig), have beaten Freedom Fund target for 6th? month running
- Siblings have suggested a secret Santa present exchange for Christmas 2014, will save us £100+ :T
- I've fixed some really challenging spreadsheet and audit items at work, feeling like I understand what's happening a bit more
- Jogging goes very well, I'm looking trimmer and I'm up to 6+ miles a time :T
Today- Pay in cheque for closed cashback credit card (nearly £30)
- Grocery shopping
- Clean fish tank
- Haircut
- Hoover
- Polish shoes
- Batch cook some pasta sauce
- Complete a few surveys
Happy weekend all :beer:0 -
Think "flow" and breathe.
I have graduate colleagues who can barely name the PM and say "im not a political person". Surely anyone breathing is a political person.
Sorry about the fish. Is their chemistry out of whack or is it a disease?

Hey Ed,
good to see you posting again although i am sorry to hear about the real life hard work stuff. Hi Mr E, good to see you posting, it's hard to keep the momentum of posting up when RL is being a bit carp.
However, we're genuinely all here to pick each other occasionally and provide some support.
Sorry to hear about the fish, and your new location at work. I often site with BBC iplayer on, whilst working, to drown out the noise. Mad.
Great to hear Mrs E is in good health.
Enjoy the rugby

Hi Ed,
Thanks for posting. I'm sorry some things in RL are rubbish at the moment but I'm glad that other things are clearly brilliant for you. Don't run away when things are rubbish - we are good at pointing at the bad guys/things and hissing- but I understand that you don't necessarily want to go over them again.
Chin up, chuck!
What's going on with the fish? Have they caught fish flu or the equivalent?
Best of luck with it all! xDebt: £11,640.02 paid in full! DFD: 30/06/20

Thanks all, I just don't want to bore you with negativity. I realise life isn't all sweetness and light, but sometimes too much gloom can really bring down the mood of a place (real life or virtual!)
Things could be much worse. I could play for the Scotland rugby team :rotfl:
Re. the fish, I suspect it was 'new tank syndrome', which is basically when the filter in the tank doesn't have enough nitrifying bacteria to safely break down the massive amounts of waste produced by fish babies. Still, they all would've died in the filter, so any survivors are good.
Managed everything on my list (smart haircut for Mrs E's big sister's wedding next week) and also popped out to H0mebase for paint for the room du bebe. We're going for Cr0wn 'Gentle Yellow' with a standard white for the ceiling and gloss for the skirtings. Planning on getting a new carpet as well, something 'natural' looking (i.e. nondescript light brown that doesn't show up vomit).
Listed an Am@zon voucher as well, it's already over the face value with a few days to go0 -

:rotfl: This made me laugh as we have a Beige carpet in DS2's room and when he was a very young baby, he managed to poo all over the carpet (too much info I know, but his poo was mustard in colour) and all I can say is thank heavens the carpet was Beige and not any lighter, otherwise it would have had to be thrown out!
PS sorry to hear work is rubbish at the moment and hope things improve. Great news that all is well with Mrs E and little baby.
