Well, I hope Mrs E isn't carrying seven babies!:eek::eek:
I seriously doubt that, but twins and even triplets are becoming more common, aren't they?!Debt: £11,640.02 paid in full! DFD: 30/06/20

Oh, that's all right then :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Oh don't count on a history meaning anything, Ed! :rotfl: *Reminds self not to tease Ed so much*
I have tried making wine with my aquarium heater and I'm not sure it has gone so well: the yeast frothed up MASSIVELY over the first night. It seems to have dissipated two days later, and when I opened it (well, I had to get a second opinion), a friend who has seen a lot of beer stuff brewed reckoned it looked OK (the yeast had gone down and the mixture looked translucent again) and he could smell alcohol, although opening it isn't great. What do you think?!
Also, I have a new thread. Feel free to pop by. There will be muffins. And tea. And coffee. And maybe wine, in a few weeks! :rotfl:

Ooh - I do like a new diary :T
1) Did you calibrate the thermometer by checking the expected vs. actual temperature?
2) What temperature did you set it at?
3) You mention the smell of alcohol - do you have a hydrometer so that you can calculate actual volume?- £3.06 to Freedom Fund
- £10.53 to 2017
- Something silly, like 7p to Baby Pot to round it up
- My local fish shop has offered to take my babies for £1/head once I grow them on a bit (based on normal spawning rates (and a bit of luck), this could cover c. 1/2 of my tank costs throughout the year). I strongly suspect there are several more in hiding...
- Off to watch the L3go movie with Mrs E tonight, £6 cinema date

Cinema actually ended up being £5.50 each, plus we got two vouchers for £5 tickets to be used by the end of March :j The universe must have heard me complaining about the cost!
- £3.50 to Freedom Fund
- £10.53 to 2017
- £4 to Baby Pot (TCB pay out, plus some odds to round up)
- Completed a VO survey for 50p
- Screened out of another Ipsauce survey :rotfl:
- 5 mile run planned for tonight

Erm, no.edinburgher wrote: »2) What temperature did you set it at?
Initially 21 degrees, then when it felt cold on the outside (I'm sure that was the cause of failure for the last batch) I upped it to 23 degrees, at which point the yeast started to take over the world! (I then went back down to 21 degrees. Worryingly, I have yet to see any air bubbles come out of the water trap at the top, yet my friend could detect the smell of alcohol. *Shrugs worriedly*edinburgher wrote: »3) You mention the smell of alcohol - do you have a hydrometer so that you can calculate actual volume?
Yes. Actually, I'm on my third one (they break easily) and I've yet to get any wine!edinburgher wrote: »Cinema actually ended up being £5.50 each, plus we got two vouchers for £5 tickets to be used by the end of March :j The universe must have heard me complaining about the cost!
OMG my local is just over a tenner a ticket nowadays. No wonder it's a very rare excursion nowadays! (Or Orange Wednesdays)
