True, but it's a very important political event and we owe it to ourselves to explore both sides :)

I've started reading the white paper, you should join me.

    Harrumph! Feeling grouchy today.

My work pension has been paid incorrectly for multiple years. I first raised this in November and to date, HR seem to have done naff all to resolve it.

The root of the problem lies in the fact that the software used to calculate contributions can't handle percentages, only fixed amounts. I asked to pay a percentage figure (max required for full employer match, like all good MFW) and none of my subsequent wage rises have been reflected in what goes into my pension. It's a ££££ difference (half me to pay, half them to pay).

The following needs to be done:

    1) Current amount increased to correct level
    2) Back payments made by employer and me
    3) Additional payment from employer to reflect acturial revision/the growth I lose because they didn't honour my salary authorisation (I've lost £££ in the last year alone)

Now I realise that HR are busy people. As a start, I've asked them to complete 1), but they haven't even done that yet (asked 5 weeks ago!)

Am I being unreasonable? In my eyes, they're effectively witholding wages as the pension is part of my T&Cs.
  • Hi Ed,

Ooh, I would be cross, too!

I think you need to get a timescale on this. Write a letter (recorded delivery) or send an email to HR asking politely when you should expect this issue to be resolved as nothing appears to have happened yet (from what you have been told, at least). Then ask them to reply to your request within *insert timeframe here* explaining when you should expect this to be resolved and if anything has been done so far to explain what.

Then if you don't get a reply, chase it up, and if you do and they don't do what they say they will do by the time they should have done it, go for 'em!

But first you need that timescale. ;)

Absolutely not at all. I find that dealing with HR used to be a complete chore but PB is right - I would chase them firmly...

    Hi Mr E

You have my sympathies. I had the exact same thing happen to me year before last. Sadly in my case it took them 5 months to resolve  Although they tried to correct it - they got the correction wrong too
Got there in the end though by asking a senior manager to escalate it for me. I hope you get it sorted soon!

Argh - it would appear that the wheels have fallen off my stooze :o

What with all the recent cleverness of remortgaging, new bank accounts, credit cards etc., I sailed a bit too close to the wind and got a £12 charge from Tesco for going £7 over my limit. Infuriating, as we have £££££ in savings at present

Our current credit cards are full and I tried to open a new one. No dice...

I think it's probably a good idea to unwind our stoozed positions and repair the damage. There's 3 months left on my current 0% deal and about 9 months left for Mrs E's account.

Not the end of the world, I was getting sick of opening special offer current accounts anyway :p

Did anyone else watch the rugby last night? Now that was entertaining :T

Mrs E and I are having a duvet couch day, watching Scotland vs. Italy this afternoon and probably a kiddie movie :)

I've already been shopping, the house is reasonably tidy and we get paid on Monday.

We've ended the month at c. -£60, not too bad considering we had to book our ferry ticket for the end of June and that was £180 (we're told it books up fast for the Barrathon!)

Why are Ipsauce so bad for surveys? I have no idea how MSE claim they're the best for paid surveys, I have had *1* survey where I wasn't screened out :rotfl:
