Are you looking to sell? Or is this for the remortgage? Or just want to find out?

It's for the remortgage, BlueMoo, we're (hopefully) changing lenders in the new year.
I didn't understand this I assume it wasn't fish? Confusing

Sorry Cal! Basically my chicken pie was assembled in a manner not dissimilar to a fish pie ;)
    You swap to NPower too?

Yes - and they're yet to wow me....
    What happened to Zopa?

The bottom fell out of it! I can now get as much on cash savings with SFCS protection as I can from Zopa, which offers me less protection and considerably more work to run.
Can I ask how you picked what you wanted to do for Honours? I'm stuck

It's been a while since University, so bear with me. By honours, do you mean your final year? I think I always knew what I wanted to do, the other courses I took were largely chosen to fit around my main subject (English Literature). In retrospect, it was a poor choice, as it didn't lead to a job.

If I were to go back again, I'd speak with the careers department, do my own research and focus on whatever subjects looked likely to be in demand by the time I finished and go with those. The typical undergraduate degree offers more than enough time for fun, intellectual stimulation and partying, no harm in choosing something sensible for the final year.

Basically I didn't plan, and it bit me on the bum.

2 days left of work and looking forward to the holidays immensely.

    £3.49 to Freedom Fund
    £2 to Remortgage Pot
    £1 to Kitchen Pot

That's what I thought, sounds yummy! Can it be frozen?

Hmmm, okay :) One goal over my winter break is to try and find out more about investing, so confusing!

Yeah, final year. Okay, thanks for the info. I don't know whether to go with the supervisor I prefer, or the subject that looks most interesting. I need a tactful way of email the supervisor I want to work with, asking what their options are and then going for my backup plan if their projects don't interest me! :o

I think it would be safe to do so, but I'm not sure if it would freeze well. I invented the recipe, so don't have a definite answer on that one.

Cheap diversified index trackers. Bam - job done ;)

Re. supervisors, I'd probably just be polite but direct. If you're not interested in what they're doing, it's probably a waste of both your time.

    HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

I am over the moon to be on my holidays, it has been a long year. Celebrated with a tasty dinner with Mrs E (poussin and roasted vegetables), had a couple of small wines and a small dram of Aldi's 30 year old blended whisky (delicious!)

My payslip for the month was available today and my pay rise has kicked in, as well as roughly £100 in backdated pay. I'll be adding this to the Freedom Fund, but I did spend roughly £30 this evening on buying myself some basic homebrew kit from the Wilko sale. With a little luck, it'll be available to collect on Friday.
    • £6 to Freedom Fund
    • £4 to Remortgage Pot
    • £2 to Kitchen Pot
    • We only have one Christmas present left to buy.

    Very very lovely indeed!

Well done for the payrise. Can I ask what the Freedom Fund is for?

Can I ask what the Freedom Fund is for?

The Freedom Fund is for the fact that my job can be quite stressful at times and rather than just moan about it, I like to dream of something different :)

Not quite sure what that something different is, but money in the bank gives me choices!

Day 1 of holidays was great fun - went to L1dl, Asd@ and Mr T. Making some HM bread, spreadsheets all balanced and looking forward to payday tomorrow (plus paid in a very generous £50 cheque from my Grandparents).

Screened out of a VO survey, not to worry...

Next month's Freedom Fun target is £200 (£415.39), should be fine thanks to my backdated pay.
