  • Yes mate either product will do. The one highlighted above is the general original product and will do any colour or paint type. The other one is a later version and are loosely colour matched. To be honest all it is a paste with microscopically fine grit in it which sands out the scratch effectively. Once cut, you need to polish using Turtle Wax original wax polish (in a tin) to put a protective gloss wax coat over the top.

    T-Cut in little circles, gently with one finger covered in soft lint free cloth. Keep working it it is elbow grease powered. Buff off and see what its like, re-apply until happy with finish. Then wax and polish. Solves all but deepest scratches and even if deep will improve it and protect the damaged area from rust but need to keep polishing after washing or get done professionally.

    Happy Daniel-San, wax-on wax-off!! (I got it TooToo!)
  • I can beat the wall and branch arguments hands down:

    Last year whilst driving my much loved and newish mini down the A40 at around 50mph a large bird flew over me and dropped an egg (possibly stolen) which landed on the bonnet of my car - left an egg shaped dent and scratch and to top it all the egg exploded and, being a hot day, scrambled itself on my windscreen - and was a right pain to get off :eek:

    Thanks SD - you're my DIY guru these days :)

    After the success of the windows (looking perfectly acceptable this morning, dramatic reduction in drafts), I am encouraged to give this a try.

    Wa-shing?? I've heard of this concept, but this is Scotland! Nature washes my car at least 3-4 times a week :rotfl:

    Cinema is off today, as poor Mrs E has caught the lurgy (again). Not the best end to the weekend, but I'm going to use the extra time to catch up with housework and start a few projects.

    Scratches on cars are annoying, but I see it this way - if you are not expecting to get much for the car when you sell it on, then don't stress about it - its a practical item. T Cut is great stuff.

    My last car went through a stage of being bashed and scraped by other drivers and I just gave up in the end. It did me good service, I had it about 7 years and sold it for £300 even though it was dented and scratched (one dent was pretty major too).

    Keep going with those pots, you are doing great.

    I reversed into a skip once. It won :o.

    A deer ran into me a few years ago. It won as well :o.
    A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

  • I once drove into a Line marking lorry, had flashing lights and was large, my only defence was post night shift drive home. I have also hit a concrete litter bin, another time a large column in a car park, I've also hit our gate post. I'll be honest there is more...... my first crash was as a learner driver.. I average every 2 years and I don't count little bumps, hence why I don't want a new new car!

    Finally got my log in details for N@tionwide and the money shuffle gets more complicated by the minute! Does anyone know if the £2500 amount that gets paid in counts as the 'must pay £1000 in a month' amount for the first month?

    Current thinking is:
    • £1000 to N@tionwide ->>
    • £1000 to H@lifax ->>
    • £993.47 back to S@ntander (leaving a small amount to cover 2 DDs)

    I've tried to set up a payment mandate so that S@ntander draw £1/mth from H@lifax, but it hasn't materialised yet. I'm sure that's over a week, hope they set it up soon so that I don't lose a fiver :rotfl:

    A hectic but productive day, just relaxing with a cup of tea as I bake some wholemeal rolls for this week's lunches. Duck stir fry for dinner with lots of chilli oil to fight off the lurgy!

    Ordered some T-Cut and polish, hope to give the car some TLC if the weather holds next weekend.

    • NSD (well, £1 for some hankies)

    Can't bank it yet, but pleased to see a £69.99 Expedi@ payment has tracked through TCB.

    Yes, it does! :j

    I was going to do this too, but thought it was a bit complex. Instead, I just picked two DDs that didn't get cashback from S123 and were static amounts - in my case TV Licence and life insurance.

    HTH!?
