Today has been one of the worst days ever.... FIL has been given his results from when he had his op to remove the cancer and sort out his bowel. He has to start having chemo in 12 weeks as he has to wait so he has recovered from his op. He has about 50/60% chance of 5-6 years left.
Im off now to cancel the wedding as OH has gone up the hospital. I am devastated.
Oh Danielle I am so sorry....you must be absolutley gutted.
I hope it's not too long before it can be rescheduled...and to make you feel a little better about it lets hope it chucks it down with rain on the day you should have been getting married.
Hope things are not as grim as they could be with your FIL too, poor chap. I expect he's devastated it's having to be postponed (not cancelled) too.

Just back from W.H.Smiths and gift cards still working. Managed to get £96.03 on gift cards and 25 greeting cards. The staff were so friendly and had no problems doing the transactions. Started with 2 then went to 4 and at the end was doing 7 cards a time. Apparently they have this offer quite often according to the staff who told me to keep popping in and looking for signs above the greeting cards. It's a fantastic offer and I wish I could thank the original person who posted it. :T:T Am tempted to go back but think that would be too greedy...:rotfl:
Its good to know they may do this again! I may regain my composure and try it if i see signs up again. (Had my first trouting today, SA said that it has NEVER been possible to buy giftcards with giftcards, especially when theres a promotion!:o)0 -
Well done everyone on getting the WHS cards shame some of you not having any luck or getting stopped.
Can you buy giftcards on shelf service tills as my local has a row of these now. Just thought it might make things a little easier if I picked a busy time.
The small signs above the cards did say 'except SS tills'0 -
If you joined the Daily Mail Rewards Club, they recently sent out a 3 months free membership Tastecard (50% off at participating restaurants). People are selling theirs on Ebay. It never ceases to amaze me how some people will sell anything while others will buy anything.0

After reading of people being trouted, I don't know if I dare post what I got in WHS today
If I just say that I now have 49 greetings cards, which were all £1.99 you'll have to ask Caz if she can work it out for you
I must say that the Sales assistants were lovely.....even though I don't think they realised at first just how many times I would be up at the till!!
After I'd done (there were whispers of running out of gift cards) I popped into the bakery next door and bought them a nice cream cake each to have in their tea break.
I've loved this money making glitch....first "proper" one I've ever had after missing out on the OEP
Thanks so much to the OP :T:T:T:TMy husband says he will leave me if I don't stop shopping......... God I will miss that man.0 -
Could someone please thank one of my friends and family tips as its my last one
My initials are C.I. and one of my tips was to tell family and friends if you found a bargain and hopefully they would do the same for you. You might have to trawl down fair a bit as I did most of them over a week ago.0 -
Hi all,
Thanks sooo much to the OP and also subsequent peeps who have posted re the WHS deal. I was in two minds whether to trek into town with my LO's this morning in case it wasn't working but I decided to and then managed to get us all ready in super quick time as I was panicking it would be pulled!
I bought 2 cards at first and told the nice SA I would be coming back with more when it worked. I grabbed another 7 cards but my nice SA had turned into a trout! She told me she didn't understand what I wanted to do so I kept explaining to her and in the end I said please can you put one through and I will show you. She said she had to go and check with her manager first...10 mins later she returned and said she could do it. Phew! I got 2 x £15 gift cards and I think i have a couple of pounds left on another. (well done to those who have been brave/lucky enough to get lots!) I was most impressed with myself that I managed to get complete cards cos I felt like I had got myself in a right mess when paying so thought I'd end up with lots of cards with small amounts on.
As I was walking away a girl came over to me and in very hushed tones asked if I had just done the 'glitch thing' and asked me to explain how to do it! I'm pleased as its my first glitch that has worked (I got well and truly trouted with the Boots multivits and they refused to sell them to me - felt like a criminal!).
Feel like nipping in again this afternoon but unfortunatley I can't 'nip' anywhere now with 17 month old twins lol!! It is such an effort to get them ready to go out! I am happy with my lot though
Sorry to those who haven't been able to get the deal - hope it works if you try a different storeErm I'm not sure if I've got the hang of this money saving.....I seem to be spending more money buying 'bargains' that I don't really need - oops!!0 -
Am so envious of everyone's WHS bargain gift cards!
Won't be able to go until thursday and very much doubt it will still be on then!
Is there an expiry date on the cards?
TIA0 -
Anyone got any jokes? Feeling really down and lonely this afternoon. Just hoovered the whole flat but still feeling rubbish, just want to cry:(. Feeling even worse that there are so many people going through such an awful time on this thread that are just coping and getting on with it, and I am just moaning for no reason0
